Week in the Life?

Is anyone doing a Week in the Life this year? Ali Edwards posted about her planning on her blog today so it got me thinking. I was able to complete a few days last year but didn't finish the week. And I don't know if I should really tackle it at all since I'm currently 7 weeks behind in my PL.

Anyways - just wondering what everyone was doing :)

I am! I'm planning to do another 8x10 Blurb book like I did in 2011 but with a new design. Templates in 8x10 & 12x12 will be coming next weekend (Sept 7).

I'm really excited about it. Taking a year off in-between was good I think because it's a lot of work but now we're in a new city, new home, etc so I think it'll be neat to capture how our life is different again.

I already did AWITL this year (I'm a rebel like that!) back in April, so no, I won't be doing it again.

I think it's a really fun project, though. I think I've done it 3x in the last 5 years.
 
I am! I never make time to scrap anymore, but I managed to do a super simple Instagram version of AWITL last year. I think I'll go that route again. It really is fun to look back now and see how different our lives are just a year later.
 
Lynnette, you mean, Sept 7th? ;)

I'll be doing it! That will be just part of my PL book! I just told my kids about it last night to be prepared to have camera in front of them for 7 days! :)

Hahaha, yes, Sept 7th. Not Saturday in two days, whatever next Saturday is. I think I'm in denial about it being September already. Probably because it's still 90+ degrees here. :D
 
I'm doing AWITL this week and planning on using Lynnette's templates to do mine. I'm doing it along with PL. PL is going to be super simple this week and mostly be about stuff that doesn;t go in WITL.

So Jennifer - are you making a separate album or just printing the pages and putting them in your PL?

I know if I do it - I need to keep it extremely simple. We are actually closing on our new house that Friday (Sept. 13) so I know there will be a ton of packing and stuff. But I like doing it when everyone else does it - love the camaraderie. So we'll see. :)

Erin, that's why I went with the instagram version last year. I had a newborn, and i just didn't have time to do a big drawn-out thing.

I did my layouts using Traci's Insta-album templates. No embellishments. Just pics, text, and a title for the day of the week.

yes - I am... I need to add another project to my really, really long list of unfinished projects! :blink: :D:D:D

I've been slowly pushing through last year's AWITL using Mari/Nicole's Days of the Weeks kits... so hope that is done in time for this years... :)
 
I'm going to. I do one in spring & one in fall because we have very different things going on in each season. I get them printed together in a photobook.

But I just do a 365 photo project, not PL. If I was doing PL I probably wouldn't do AWTL on top of it. I have a hard enough time getting my P365 photos edited and in the Blurb templates as it is. :)

I think so! I actually just finished my AWITL from April 2012 like last month with Nettio's templates. It came together fairly easily, but it took awhile for me to force myself to do it. It's only been a year and a half and things have already changed so much!
 
I am! It's the week before I go to Archiver's Scrapfest and I'm taking Becky Higgin's Project Life workshop and planning on using doing it with the mini album and cards that are part of the workshop... I'm just going to do super simple this year and edit and print all my photos on Monday after the week is over and then bring them with me to the event... my only thing is I'll have to remember to take all my photos as horizontal... otherwise they'll have to be two 3x4 together if I take vertical photos...
 
Erin, I'm planning on doing it as a separate minibook, but I've also considered printing and doing it as inserts in my PL. We'll see once I am done what I decide to do. I wish I could do it when everyone else is, but our life will not be anything like normal that week so I chose to do it early.
 
I'm not. I'm struggling to keep up with PL (ie, I'm far, far behind) and do regular scrapping. Plus my PL album already has most of the things I'd want to record in AWITL. I may do a single 12x12 or PL LO at some point this year that's more schedule/time focused, but that's all I feel the need to do right now.

I've never done it, and I'm not doing it this year. It seems a little redundant since that's kind of what my PL album is.

I will, however, be stopping by to check out this really great sponsor...
 
I'm totally in! Loved doing it last year!!!!!

Baby girl is due to arrive next week, so it'll be neat to have a record of those first 5-12ish days....

I do mine paper. I pretty much mimic Ali, but with different colors.
 
I am cause I got my 2011 AWIYL pages printed and I absolutely FELL IN LOVE...maybe I will convince my self to finish 2012 so I can be ahead of the game....I always like doing these kinds of things and I am struggling to keep up with my PL this year, but I am still chugging along!!!! I have through week 21 this year with pictures and journaling, the rest will be easy....
 
Lynnette, I am DEFINITELY buying that template set this year. I used your last one to design the Family Vacation album this year. I also used Traci's to design my Instagram vacation album...

I'm going to try to do AWITL. I've never done it before.
 
I can't decide. I am currently failing at PL. The last WITL I did was in April 2012 and lots has changed in my life since then so it would be nice to see the two books side by side if I were to ever finish the other one. ;)
 
I've never done this, but it sounds fun! Ok, I might do it. I'm always so busy, but I want to make time. As it stands, I really need to get back to work on my PL book that I haven't touched in months haha.
 
I think I will do it, ty for the reminder!! I skipped last year so I think I will do it and use the same templates I did the first year as I love how they worked out for me. I used Traci's 10,080 minutes template.

on a side note I have decided PL is NOT for me.

I will be doing it. This week is my first official SAHM week, so it will be neat to document a typical week in this new stage in my life and also capture some first of my newest son (3 months old)

So do you do anything to "prepare"?

Do you have lists of things you would like to capture?

Many of my days are very the same. I'm looking for any suggestions or ideas.
 
so glad it is next week...but I will literally jave to take pictures with my regular camera cuase my phone is DEAD ...like D.E.A.D!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!
 
I really love the idea, but it won't be a typical week at all! My inlaws (who we normally see EVERY week) are out of town, my daughter's birthday is the 10th, we have meetings with her preschool, her birthday party, etc. etc. In addition to not needing ANYTHING else to plan, it just wouldn't capture what our normal life is like at all. Plus it seems kinda unfair to my other daughter if I document every minute detail of her sister's birthday planning and not hers. I think I'll do it some other week, though.
 
I definitely want to do it this year! I totally fell in love with Lynette's templates so I'll be using those, but resizing them to 6x8 and including them in an existing album. My bf has been going out of town a lot recently and I want to record that. It works out that he'll be gone on Monday and Tuesday, so I asked him to take pics while he's in Ny and I'l be taking pics here in Bos
 
I think I'm going to pass this year. This next week is going to be so super hectic as we close on our new house and move. And it's not like I'm not going to have this week documented at all - it will be in my project life :)

So I'll sit and watch you all and cheer you all on! :)
