Are you a sentimental sap?

Nope, I can cry over girly movies and such, but I hold in my emotions a lot and thus only cry in private over big things most of the time.

Let's see...

On Friday I cried when one of my students ran down the hall screaming my name. We hadn't seen each other for two whole months. It was traumatic.

I cried when a different student who I also taught last year did the actions and made a noise for a song we were singing. He sat in my class for 3 months and never made a noise or did an action those entire three months. So huge.

Came home and watched the Kidd Kraddick tribute (my favorite morning DJ who passed away at the end of July). Combined with all that stuff earlier in the day, it turned me into a completely blurbing mess. Cried the whole hour.

I cry easily over things in books and movies, but when it comes to real people and situations I'm more practical and less sentimental. On the other hand, I am a scrapper. I want to remember all the little things that I know I won't if they're not written down, and I want my children to know how I felt about them if there comes a time when I'm not here to tell them.

Probably moderately outwardly. But I am HUGELY sentimental about objects. I will keep every single little thing that could possibly remind me of a sweet moment. I have every tiny scrap of paper that my ds scribbled on his 1st year. My dh found a heart shaped stone by the creek one time and I still have it in my jewelry box. My dd bought me one of those 50 cent rings at the Santa Shop when she was in K and I still have it. A friend in high school gave me a pop tab that was supposed to symbolize a kiss (was this a fad only we went through?) and, yes... still have it, lol!

I'm not sentimental about "things," but I TOTALLY am about situations. I cried when we went to kindy orientation the other night. I cry every time I watch Pitch Perfect. Certain songs I can't even hear the open chords to. I'm a hot mess.

Nope. I've always said my emotions run on the more masculine side. It takes something really heart wrenching for me to tear up. Also, people who cry when they're angry (my mom) drive me bats**t crazy.

there ya have it folks. LOL
This is why I hate fighting with people. I cry when I'm super pissed off. I have zero control over it.

sentimental yes. Crying lately is random sometimes I dont even know why. And like Laura there are some songs I cannot hear. At all. When Im angry though the tears are usually the last thing to happen. Only one who can make me cry when I am angry is my daughter

Hmm. I'm super sentimental, but not outwardly so. People wouldn't know how deeply I feel things based on my external appearance. If you get me talking about the exact right topic, I'll definitely cry, though.

Yep... strangely, since my kids have been born. I cry over the stupidest stuff, and MOVIES? My children already laugh about me because I even cry a river over their kids' shows...

This explains me best too... I don't get sentimental over things like old baby clothes, my child going to K, or things like that - they're normal parts of growing up and should be celebrated. I do get teary over a movie or book, and I also an sentimental in the way that I like to remember things on a scrapbook page, but not in a crying sobbing way, just a storytelling way. Songs will also get me but not if anyone else is around (except Cheyanne, and she thinks I'm nuts!) If other people are around I can control it.

It does make it much easier to get rid of things (Such as I only kept the outfit Cheyanne came home from the hospital in and her first pair of shoes). The rest was out of here :D

oh my yes, very much so... I made the mistake at looking at a few scrapbooks I have done a few years back and I'm bawling that my son is growing up... and then when I have to clean out his closet and remove all the clothes he has grown out of... I'm done for the day...

I am not over things but situations.. YES.. so much. I cry at commercials, movies, books, you name it. When I am REALLY mad, I cry.

Hmmm... well... I guess I can be a sap, lol... but I am a mix, I think.

I can cry at books, stories, videos where it touches me, and that lump comes and then the tears. I can also be practical, and look at both sides of a situation... so I'm mixed. I can get super mad, and either cry like a little girl... or get mad and angry and stand up for myself (mostly this is for others) and stomp my feet until all is better.... Most of the time, I'm happy and just go with the flow.

As for sentimentality.... I think that is a bit random for me. Just last week... I was more upset that my oldest lost his "blanket" that he had from birth. He just shrugged his shoulders, and I was ready to start bawling.... I said that it was funny that I was more upset and my boys came up to hug me and reassure me that all would be ok! LOL!

I am only sentimental about things related to my child. Like, it took me a couple of years to actually start giving away her baby clothes that took up space. Of course, I kept at least one box of special items... but other than that...not so much. I have always been the 'protector' so I don't cry and if something is too girly, then it is not for me.
