Plant Help!

When I watered my plants yesterday they were fine, then this morning I went to water them and bring them back in and they looked like this! (First picture is from a few days ago, second is from today) What could have happened to them?? And are they just DEAD? If it helps any they have a slight yuck smell coming off of them.

The reason I said too much sun (and I'm sure Tanyia can relate to this!) was because the skinny little ones look exactly like what happens to my seedlings whenever I take them outside here in Florida. I pinned this a few weeks ago as a reminder to myself: http://pinterest.com/pin/260645897156870985/

Expose them to a steadily increasing amount of sun, wind, and temperatures. This will take about 2 weeks. Don’t rush it. // The ideal time to plant is when it’s overcast, with rain in the forecast and no frosts or heat waves expected. If conditions don’t cooperate, then try to plant in the late afternoon or early evening to minimize the time the seedlings bake in the sun. The day before planting, water the plants.

i'd say you overwatered them.. they need to come out of the cartons asap. it's great for just starting, but if it's a weak root plant the roots will just start rotting in in the bottom of the egg carton (stronger roots can punch through and will last a little longer in there..) i'd transplant the stuff that still looks ok asap and let the rest dry a little and see if they perk up.. you could try throwing them in the ground too but they might be too far gone already and i hate wasting energy lol
