Do you have a favorite layout that...

As an example, I used a green and yellow tractor themed kit from Misty (now retired) to create this layout that I still love 5 years later.

I used Kristin's For Auld Lange Syne kit to scrap my neice's dance show. Does that count?

Here's another. I used Before I was your Mom: We got Married by Traci Reed and Meghan Mullens, to scrap a page about my neice breaking her leg. Purple is her favourite colour.

I made this page with Ru and Melissa's moving kit (kind of a play on words):

I also did this bday page with Mari's Dino kit!

and this is a LO I did with Libby's Band Camp Kit!

Question: when you use a theme kit for an off-theme page, do you usually do because of the colors (Jacinda had a couple)? or play on words (like mine and Judie's)? other reason?

I usually end up using a themy kit when my designer's make one and if I don't have a "theme" to go with it, I just make it work with whatever pictures I have :) I make the kit work for ME regardless of theme :)

oh and here is a 4th of July kit I used with this LO of Abby because she LOVES the song "Firework" by Katy Perry and plays it on Just Dance all the time! (this one was totally inspired by the name of the song so I just had to use a 4th of July kit)

exactly! mostly i'm just scrapping the photo... and usually the theme of the kit never really plays into how or why i use it.

i love this one with Ju's new circus kit (the same one Angie used just above)... only because my life is a circus. lol.

and i lovelovelove to use super flowery/girly kits for my boy pages ;]

Here is one outside the actual theme. I was inspired by an element in the kit and used the play on words to scrap about a rough time.

Using this scoop from Rubia and Melissa

It's always about color for me. Even if I have photos for a matching theme, if the colors aren't right I can't use it for those photos.

I do it because Traci keeps putting out theme kits and I'm not a theme person. So I just look for ways to make them work for me. ((Though ironically, it was not a Traci one I posted for my example. lol))

I really love themes, so when I get them - I tend to use them for the theme they represent. I think the biggest "outside the box" layouts for me are when I have to scrap with a girly kit, and i don't wanna do an about me page. I love that challenge - so fun to try and make it boyish :)

I do that all the time... for obvious reasons, haha.

This one uses a Halloween kit:

The kit itself (50% of the LO is made using it):

This one uses a travel kit:

The kit itsef:

And the papers here come from a Christmas kit:

This is the kit:

Dunno if this counts because it's a mix, but the kit that is used most is a Christmas one (Heaven And Nature Sing by you, Krystal)):

The kit itself:

this is one of my favourite threads EVER!! Well done ladies. Nothing makes me smile more when scrapbookers think ouf ot the box and play with a kit to its fullest potential :)

How about using a kit called "Little Lady" and making a page titled "Mother & Son"? Does that count? :D

Most of my non-themey pages are just trying to turn a girly kit into a boy kit.
