Mother's Day - what are you hoping for?

My Mother's Day happened over iNSD weekend, when I got a day to myself to scrap. That's a rare treat, and there's nothing I wanted more! On the actual day we'll probably go out to dinner, the kids will give me the things they made at school, and DH will give me a card and maybe a small gift card to buy a few kits.

Just getting an acknowledgement that it's Mother's Day without having to do the "Ahem... isn't there something you want to say to me?" thing. :) Hoping that this isn't the last year that my youngest (who is 12) still wants to give me hugs. Hoping that in this next year (when I'll be filing for divorce) that my kids never forget just how much I love them. I'm going to do my very best to make this as easy on them as I can.... hopefully my soon to be ex husband does the same.

I would like some to clean this damn house... someone OTHER than me please! That would make my year!

YES! *fist pump* That would be AWESOME! Your girls better do that for you or I am going to come for a visit and kick some rear! They are old enough to do it and do it VERY well. LOL

Steve just mentioned to me that he ORDERED me a gift. We usually don't do gifts so now I am very interested. I am sure that now he got a gift that he won't be doing the give mom a quiet day though. LOL

I've asked my hubby a few times when he's asked me what I wanted for anniversary etc (I don't really like doing gifts) but i've suggested just having someone come in to do a good clean ONCE but he says no because that isn't a nice gift.. because it isn't romantic....

sigh. lol

All I want for mothers day is my new house that we put an offer in all the way back in November! We are sooooo close to having all the loose ends tied up so it just may actually happen!

I hate to sound ungrateful, but this year I want breakfast NOT in bed. I usually get breakfast in bed and then everyone piles in with me and we end up with crumbs and syrup and strawberries, etc spilled all over the place. And it's wonderful and like some sort of cute Hallmark commercial. UNTIL I then have to get up, strip the bed, wash all the bedding and re-make it. 0_o

So, since breakfast is my favorite meal fo the day, this year I'd like to go out to a cool, kitschy breakfast place where we can have someone else clean up afterward! And then I can take a nap later in my nice still-clean sheets.

my sassy mouth six year old to turn back into my sweet little boy!!! :glare: that is all I want for Mother's Day... :(

Bwhahaha... I'm only laughing because I now have a 14 yo daughter and I'd take your sassy mouth son any day over the drama and the rudeness.

ETA - I always think my kids will be nice on Mother's Day and my husband will have his act together and make it the best day ever. You know what it's always the day the kids act the worst, probably because I'm expecting them to be their best. So I've decided to let that go and be happy if I can get a whole afternoon of the 4 us not around the TV and all together (with the 14 yo not on her phone). But, if they want to clean the house while I nap...I wouldn't stop them. :)
