Seriously though...if you like historical type shows this one is really really good. We're hooked and it's been renewed for a second season :)

Gosh he is so hot.
I hate Sunday shows though because I'm almost never home when they come on! I am so sadly behind on that one because it's not like I can really watch it with any kids around.

I've never heard of this. But we like Viking history and yeah that guy looks compelling to watch ;) Let me know if the first season is being rerun. I'd like to check it out!

Yeah - never heard of this, but now I'm interested. Let me know if they do a marathon, so I can get it recorded and catch up.

We have this recorded and DH has watched it (he's half Norwegian). But it's on "his" DVR and not mine, so I'm having a hard time finding time to watch it. I loved The Tudors and this is written by the same guy, so I'm sure I would like it.

If anyone hears of a marathon, keep us posted. I'd like to record it. Or if it gets on Netflix.

I am loving it but I am an episode behind, gotta catch up on my DVR'ed shows soon! I have 1 revolution to watch and a new girl and a survivor episode!

i was intrigued until i watched the trailer....looks like too much fighting/blood/gore for me. I am such a wuss!!!

Yep I like it too ( I'm not caught up though ). I don't mind sex and violence ( must be all that Viking blood in my gene pool ;) ) They've got it On Demand if you have DirectTv.

Oh! I will see if I can get the episodes there - thanks!

I wouldn't say it's terribly violent either...there are some battle and fight scenes but they aren't too bad. I mean I wouldn't let my kids watch it..but I've seen worse too.

The last two episodes took such a weird, dark turn. Human (voluntary?) sacrifice? I am wondering now how historically accurate this is. I loved the show until the last two weeks, but then it reminded me of all the other trendy, dark, dark, how much infidelity can we squeeze into an hour shows that seem pervasive on tevision now. I mean I realize that the Vikings had a tough life, but can't we see one guy, ever, be faithful to his wife?

Whoa. Thanks for the links, Traci! I would not have fared well in Viking times, apparently! Okay that makes me feel a little better knowing at least it's historically accurate, as far as we know. But I would still like Ragnar better if he could have been nicer to the little woman, while she was home dealing with plagueidden funeral pyres. Sheesh.

We have 'Amish cable' (just what's broadcast over the air), so no HC for us. :D

Is it on Netflix or Hulu?

I'm not reading anything before this, but I finally started last night. One episode in and I am hooked.

OK, I got all caught up on the show. I loved it, but I agree with Liz. The last two episodes took a dark turn. I did realize its pretty accurate, but still caught me off guard. And I yelled at Ragnar for cheating on her. His wife is hotter and more hard core than the other chick anyway. I still liked it quite a bit and can't wait for next season.

I've been hoping they'd put the next season on soon, but the promo on the History channel says season 2 isn't until 2014. The sneak peek must have been really hard to film, it's action-packed!
