Uploading to many galleries....

Ok, I am struggling here! I don't know why but I have such a hard time getting my pages into galleries. I feel like it's taking me forever and that perhaps I am doing something wrong? Like it should not take as long as it is... or be such a pain. :p I try to get each of my CT layouts into 5 galleries so that the designer gets good exposure. But, each site is a bit different, and I guess I MUST be a bit A.D.D. because I can't streamline things... I lose track of where I've posted things and I get all discombobulated going back & forth copying and pasting etc. It can take me a full day sometimes.

So, give me some tips. Share your method. Pretty please. :hugs:
 
I'm a one layout at a time girl... I open enough tabs so I have designers forum, and each gallery open. Then I copy the credits across, adjusting as needed, copy title over, then upload layout. I link it all back to the first tab with designer. I repeat that for each designer. Then I don't get so confused. :)
 
I open all my galleries in their own tabs. I currently use:

SSD
2peas
Scrapbook.com
Pinterest
Scrapstacks
Facebook

After uploading to SSD, I copy the credit info and paste to the other galleries. Once they're all done I copy/paste all the links to my designers forum so they know where I've uploaded to.

I do this for each layout, one at a time.
 
Don't laugh! I have a bookmark folder of open galleries and one of closed galleries. When I upload I open the whole open galleries folder and post tab by tab. I keep track of my layouts by month. I have a blank credits document that I make a copy for each layout, it has a layout thumbnail, credits and links. I have my hosting links there and it has all my regular gallery url codes typed in so I can just drop in the links. It's still a pain in the butt, but more streamlined and I can just copy and paste for the most part.
 
this exactly...only Im on just one CT right now but there was a time I was on quite a few and this is how I managed it. It also helped my designers all released on different days too.

This is the method I use too (with slightly different gallery choices). I upload to SSD, MSA, DST and SS. Sometimes I use Pinterest and/or Facebook too. I also name my layout with the primary product, so it's easy for me to locate the product links in the store.
 
I have the same issue. And I'm kinda lazy when it comes to posting to other galleries lol . Not gonna lie!

I need to be better at it though.
 
Another thing I meant to ask is... do you all fill in the details about the page? Each gallery does this a bit differently. There's the check boxes for colors, photo size, layout size, theme... and then keywords, tags, etc. Maybe this is where I'm getting caught up? I don't just upload and go I usually fill out all the details on each page. :blink:
 
I only put the credits in....unless I am doing somethign for a specific challenge at another site, I just do the basic upload....

I also do it like Jacinda, Sheri and the other girls that do 1 LO at a time to all of their galleries....and since I upload all of my LO's here 1st I just come back to my gallery here and I know where I left off (if that makes sense LOL)

This is pretty much my method too.

Also, I put my credits on an electronic sticky note while I'm creating my layout and then I copy and paste them into the File Info for my Web sized version of the layout (the one that will go into the galleries).
 
I do the same as the other girls - multiple tabs open and one page uploaded at a time otherwise I get confused, too. I keep a text document of my credits and just copy and paste from there into the gallery credits box. Easy peasy.

I saw a great naming method by Cheryl (Fiddle-Dee-Dee) awhile ago that has helped me a ton. When I save for web, I include the date I need to post at the beginning of the file name, then the products after that. I keep a little folder on my desktop of pages ready to post and they're sorted by date so I know when to post them up!

I only upload 5 pages a day since most sites limit how many you can post. It takes about 10-15 mins tops depending on how many times I get interrupted at home. lolol

This is me. I also do My Scrapbook Art and ClubCK. And I don't do Pinterest.

As I get my kits & I'm scrapping throughout the week I make a note for each assignment in Evernote- the kit, when it's due, and the designer.

When I have a layout I make another note under it with the credits and where on my EHD it's located.

I have two check boxes before each assignment. I check off the first one when the LO is done. And I check off the 2nd one after it's uploaded to all the galleries.

Clear as mud?

I don't generally bother with the optional field since they aren't consistently used by the community (and I don't personally use them to search out pages).
 
Well, I was hoping someone was going to come up with something much easier than what I am doing now, but it is basically the same as everyone else. LOL

I do my credit list in rough form as a I go along scrapping each week, Just the kit name and designer, then on the days when the products hit the stores, I go back and put the links in my credit list and then do my uploads and copy and paste from there.
 
I use a credit document like some people mentioned, and I have 2 variations in the document: one with links and one without. I use the one without for SSD (before the store goes live) and for Scrapstacks, where I need to link using their button to get it to work.

As I upload to each site, I copy the gallery links and paste them into my credit document so that it's quick to post them in my designers' forums.

I use the same method, a few different galleries. I keep a Word document open and when I copy the credits from SSD I paste in to the Word document so I don't lose them. I copy/paste all the links on to the Word document and then in to the designer's forum. I found the Word document makes it easier for me to navigate if I'm doing multiple layout uploads. I always finish one layout completely before going on to the next. Otherwise I'll end up pasting the wrong credits on a layout or getting the wrong links.

I started trying to fill in keywords and on 2Ps I do pick from their categories. I like to be able to search a gallery for a specific idea, product, etc. The only way that works is if people put in key words. So I take the time to do it and justify it that it will give the designer more exposure when someone is looking for something specific.
 
As Im scrapping I keep credit info in Evernote. Then I just copy and past the info when I open tabs as Im uploading to galleries. I usually do one site at a time. So if I have 5 layouts to upload then all 5 get uploaded to SSD first, then I copy and past the url for that layout into evernote under each kits credits, then go to the 2nd site, and so on.

And I just put in credit info- I dont click all of the extra stuff except for at 2peas where its required before moving to the next page.
 
I have a (sub)folder in my bookmarks for each CT I'm on with links to all galleries, including FB, Scrapstacks and Pinterest.
For example, when I need to upload a LO for SSD, I right-click my SSD upload folder, open all bookmarks in tabs, and then the SSD gallery opens with the 'Sugarbabe Gallery' already selected. I do this for other CT's as well.
Included in that folder is also a link to the designer's store and to the thread where I need to post my layout links. This way I can easily grab the product link and post my layout links, all at once.
I don't fill in any extra fields, only the credits.
Uploading has definitely become more streamlined since I started doing this, although I admit it still takes time and I still struggle from time to time to get them all uploaded at once, just because of time issues.

This is what I do as well. I also name my page with the title of the main product that I've used so that I can search for it quickly.
 
I've posted at 2P's a couple of times..their uploading takes me forever so I tend to not want to post there. It's just so different from everywhere else.
 
Open my 'credits' Notepad file.

Hop around to all stores with CT product I used. Pull links. C + P into credits file. Add in any additional information to credits.

Open up gallery tabs with the ones I will post all pages to 'first' e.g. to the left (open galleries).

Upload pages ONE AT A TIME to galleries and c+p in credits from Notepad file. C+P gallery links back into credit file under product credits for page. Do this for all pages/until I hit 5 ULs.

Close gallery tabs. Open up all private designer forums/wherever they keep track of my links tabs.

C+P gallery links from Notepad file into designer forums/wherever they keep track of my links.

'Clean out' Notepad file and resave to use next time.

Breathe sigh of relief that won't have to do that again until next week. ;)
 
I'm glad I'm a kit scrapper and can just put the kit title in my file name, because keeping track of lots of products would not be great for me, lol. I'm way too lazy to set up a tracking system.
 
last time i was on a CT (last year sometime, i think.. maybe longer ago), i posted to three or four galleries (tdc, dst, msa, and sometimes here) and then facebook and my blog. each had their own tab in my bookmarks bar, and i'd copy-paste all of the credits/info for the layout. it was a decent system.
 
Even though I feel like I have my method down, and I feel like I do it as fast as possible, it still takes me forever. In one week, I spend enough time uploading layouts I could probably do a whole other page. It just takes a while. Totally worth it though. :)
 
I haven't read through all the responses, so apologies if this has already been said:

I have a folder of bookmarks with all my galleries. I open my text file of layout credits and add store links when necessary. I also have another set of credits without store links (for any closed galleries).

I open each gallery in its own tab, and sort of do it assembly line style: click the upload layouts link on each gallery, then type in my credits in each gallery, then click upload. Of course some galleries have extra steps/dialog boxes which I'm already familiar with so I know when to double back to them.

I totally get what you mean about it taking forever, sometimes I feel that way too. Then I realize I feel that way when I also have FB and the forums open and then get sucked in, lol. If I have nothing but galleries open, I can usually finish uploading a layout to five galleries in 3-4 minutes. :)
 
I have them all on my toolbar with links directly to the upload page. I open them all on tabs. Then I work my way through them - grabbing the file, cutting and pasting the description, etc. i find ck and 2Ps to be the biggest pains!
