Do you ever go back and redo older layouts?

I have made some digital layouts over for challenges that I have done but my earliest scrapping was with paper, tape runners etc. When I first started scrapping I felt like I needed to cut my photos into star shapes etc to make cutesy pages. I cringe now when I see some of those pages but everything is glued or taped down. Have you ever remade some of your older pages?

redone paper layouts? Nope! I have too many digital photos still to scrap, to redo ones in paper that are already done!

Digital layouts? Yes, mostly It's not as much a redo as a rescrap. Maybe I found a better kit, or if I needed certain photos for a challenge, but have already scrapped them, I will rescrap. I am way behind in printing, so by the time printing them comes around (eventually it will happen) I will just pick which layout I like better and print that one.

I have made folders for each of my girls with layouts that are of them or they were involved in (trips etc). So, I can probably print a duplicate layout in their albums someday too.

Physically redo them. Nope.

But I had scanned a lot of the photos before scrapping them so I have used some of the photos in digital layouts for other reasons than the original layout.

I haven't but I do have to resist the urge! I choose to view it as evidence in my personal growth! They're quite embarrassing at times though! Lol!

I have such a backlog of photos that I rarely re-scrap anything. Occasionally I'll scrap the same photos a few times- but only cause I love them so much! ;)

No, I don't re-do my old albums. I have scrapped photos a couple of times, forgetting I've already used them before, but other than that I accept the old albums for what they are.

Absolutely not! At least not my digital layouts. For one thing, mine are all printed, so that would just be throwing away money.

I have considered re-printing the first year I was scrapping from loose pages into a bound book, to have that one book be the same as everything else, but I have some layouts that have been lost over the years in their digital form.

I wouldn't mind redoing my paper layouts from when DH and I started dating until I started digi, just about 4 years worth of pages, but I'd have to get some negatives digitized.

I, too have old paper-scrapped albums with photos cut into shapes (insert face-palm emoji here!). I I have scanned the photos from these albums and will scrap them as I go. Thankfully I have the negatives or slides from some of the photos that I (or others in the family) cut into shapes!

I have re-scrapped photos when a kit comes up that is more suited to the photo. It's mostly photos that I really love.

I rescrap old photos that I love but I'm not reprinting my photo books to include the new pages.

Certain stories are my favorites and I can retell them in different ways again and again (ex: the James Webb telescope kiosk at Kennedy Space Center. First time I scrapped it was part of a bigger story about the whole building but when I rescrapped it for a challenge, I emphasized that Hubble was *my* telescope and Webb is my son's favorite)

Not once I've printed them, but if I'm printing something old that I didn't like, I might redo it.

Lately, I've been reusing old layouts in new albums, especially as album covers. This makes me super happy and saves me time. :)

That is a great idea!

I've never done that before, but maybe I will someday...pictures yes, I re-used them lately to make new pages

YES! I'm making a scrapbook of my grandson's first year of life. Recently, I went back and redid 6-7 pages which was definitely an improvement.

Hmm, I can't say I've re-done a layout, but I have scrapped photos more than once (some favourites several times) especially if they are a good fit for a CT assignment.

Actually, no. I only do that if there's a challenge here that needs to do that.
But that's actually a good idea.

I am trying not to. In an odd way I love to see how my style has changed, as well as some of the fads have changed over the years.

That said if I create a layout trying a new technique or something outside of my comfort zone, I may redo it. But once printed.... nope.

If by change I ever get caught up on what I want to scrapbook and print, then I may reconsider!

OK Evelyn - you asked if I ever redo layouts! Quite often. Now I need your advice. Which layout would you choose?

Hey, Kimberly! Both of your layouts do look fabulous! I personally love the top on with the geometric shapes and stitching behind your photo. I think the design naturally draws your eyes to your photos.

I was thinking the same thing :)

It depends.

Like you, yes I modify challenge layouts. For example, the 20 things layout for the party - I submitted, then went back and changed a few things plus added journaling to go with the story. That I do all the time, especially with challenge layouts.

Paper/old printed photos: Sometimes. Most often, I'll use the same photo to tell a different story, or flesh out a story more like Brendazzle. I only have a few photos of me growing up on the farm, but I have more stories to add. So, I let the star shaped photos lie on the previous page, and use them again, non star, to tell a new story.

That said, there are a few pages that I originally paper scrapped and am redoing digi. My wedding album I started in paper, and then did some digi. I'm going to redo the few paper layouts, so the book flows better.

But, one of my yearly albums is half paper, half digi. So, I scanned the paper, fixed the journaling (blue ink and purple paper? Ugh - can't read it!), and the paper page will get reprinted in with that year when I finish it digitally. I'm not redoing it, just adding it to the book it belongs in.

I'm on a mission to redo most of my older layouts, my first ones make me cringe. It's slow going but I'll keep at it until it's all done!
