Crafters- Online Ribbon Stores?

I'm trying to find ribbon for my Christmas tree. No, I haven't put it up yet, but I will be soon, and I need some new ribbon. I've looked at all of the craft stores around here, and I just can't find what I'm looking for. So, for those of you who craft with ribbon for your wreaths and Christmas trees, do you have a favorite online store to buy ribbon? Thanks for your help!
 
I second Costco for ribbon- the spools are huge & there's a great selection of colors/patterns. Do you have a friend or family with a membership? They could even place an online order for you maybe?

**Also- I'm ITCHING to put up my tree but trying hard to wait until 11:59 on Halloween night! lol

I feel you, Amie! I have Halloween decorations out, but I'm not a big fan of Halloween (especially since my kids don't need Mom and Dad to take them trick-or-treating anymore!) and I can't wait to start decorating for Christmas!
 
the best place I know of to look for all kinds of ribbon in large quantities is https://www.papermart.com/

I found this place years ago back when I was the craft coordinator for my MOPS group. They specialize in packaging of all kinds, and that includes bulk ribbon rolls. Their inventory changes a lot, so if you don't see what you want now check again later.

I would have suggested looking at papermart too. An artist showed it to me a while back.

This is the first year I am doing the ribbon, so do you have any advice? Also, how wide do you like your ribbon to be? Do you cut and tuck it or do you do it continuously around the tree. I want to know everything, please!!

Cut and tuck, Lori! It's much easier to make it look right. I'm sure there are tutorials on youtube. My sister is an interior designer and she taught me the cut and tuck trick. It's much easier than trying to make a whole roll of ribbon do what you want. The ribbon I use is just maybe 2 or 3 inches wide. Sometimes, I'll combine two ribbons to give it a little more oomph.

Thanks, Corey. I was thinking cut and tuck, but have to admit, I am nervous. I am not a great decorator. I would like to think I am, but in the end, I am disappointed by my efforts most of the time.

I have two trees to do this year, one is gingerbread and the other is christmas tree farm themed, and both will have some Mickey Mouse thrown in.

I have been watching you tube videos and buying and making ornaments for a while now to mimic the look I like. Now that I am older and my eyes are not as good, I love those really full trees with big ornaments.

I really, really want the cookies and milk ribbon at Decorators Warehouse for my Gingerbread tree, but have not pulled the trigger because it is expensive and I am not sure how well it will actually go.

Do you know how many rolls of ribbon your sister puts on a tree?

It will depend on how big the roll is. We typically buy the wired ribbon from Hobby Lobby. I would say at least 3 rolls. I re-use it year after year, so I don't remember how much I started with. I try to have several spare rolls so that when it starts looking tired, I can replace it with new.
