Did you upgrade to Tahoe 26.01?

I updated my MacBook Air M1 last night and noticed there was also the option to upgrade to Tahoe 26.01. I was wondering if anyone has upgraded to the new system and if PSE 2024 or PSE 2025 work with this system. Do you notice any glitches using either of these versions of PSE with the Tahoe operating system? I am always a bit afraid to upgrade until I know the ramifications I will face with my other programs. I wanted to check here before I upgrade. :) Thank you so much for any input!

I am the same as you Evelyn! I never upgrade right away because I'm always afraid something I use on the daily for SSD work will break! I'm still on Monterey!! Everything works great, so I don't want to touch it hahaha :D

I also hate Adobe for making the newest versions PSE a 3 year license instead of buy it / own it and am afraid if I update my Mac OS some compatibility issue will come up and I'll have to switch to the newest version.

I know exactly how you feel! :) I own PSE 2024 but did lease, for a lack of a better word, PSE 2025. I also hate that it is not a perpetual license. I like some of the features of PSE 2025 but think it stinks how they did the licensing. I keep hoping that next year they will change their minds and change it back. I can dream, right? Ha!Ha! :)

I've updated to the new Mac OS and I think I'm running the latest version of PSE. So far I've had no issues with the compatibility. The only issue (unrelated to PSE) I had was that my emojis didn't work for a few days. I made the latest update today and that has now been resolved too.

I don't have a Mac but I have an iPhone that's been trying to get me to upgrade to iOS 26 something and I just won't do it!!

I know it's best for security reasons and eventually I'll have to do it, but I cannot stand being forced to upgrade every few months. I am a creature of habit and these updates throw such a big wrench into things. I swear, it can ruin my whole day.

The last update completely rehauled the photos app and I had to change everything about the way I organize photos in my phone - not to mention the search feature, which I rely on heavily for scrapping, was completely turfed! Now even when I search for a specific date it comes up with nothing even though there are definitely photos for that date. Ugh. So frustrating!

I just don't get why these companies are always trying to fix things that aren't broken!

I hope your update goes more smoothly!

I know what you mean. I really don’t like how wonky the photo app is now on my IPhone! I loved the old way as well. I guess I will wait a little longer to get Tahoe

I updated my Instagram app last night ... I HATE the new interface (look). I am extremely slow in updating operating systems ... if it works, why update and possibly run into issues with the programs you use???

haha - I'm still on Sequoia on my home Mac Pro... I'm very resitant to change when it can affect my scrapbooking.

I did upgrade to Tahoe 26 on my work Mac Pro... there are interface changes that takes some time to get used to. The graphic team is leary to upgrade, too... some people have been complaining that it's slowing up their computer.

Thank you all so much for your input. I guess I will just wait it out a bit longer. I sure don't need my computer to run slow.

I'm on Sonoma and will not upgrade unless there are new features I absolutely don't think I can live without. My experience is that the older your machine, the more likely it creates other problems that impact performance (not always immediately apparent). I totally think it's intentional to get people to want to upgrade to a newer computer. I dismiss the constant reminders to upgrade to Sequoia!

I haven't upgraded yet. I upgraded my phone, but I don't love everything - still feels glitchy, so I definitely want to wait on my computer upgrade!

I miss the days of owning PS too! I had PS7 on a CD rom and put it on every computer I ever had. I don't think it will even run on my current computer!

I'm still on Seqouia - my MacBook is officially too old now to get the new updates. I desperately want to upgrade but hubby lost his job last year - he's working now but at about half what he was making last year so money is tight.

Anyone use a newer MacBook Air and have it work with Photoshop and 'Photos' ok? That and the web browser are really the only things I use it for, but I'm worried the Air isn't fast enough or can't handle Photoshop ... but currently my MacBook is getting slower and slower - and the 'Photos' app takes about 15 minutes to load anything ... sigh ...

My MacBook Air is about four years old and works fine with Photoshop Elements and photos but I am not sure how it would do with Photoshop. It is sad that they don't offer updates for older computers and laptops. They are expensive to replace.

Mine was updated (Macbook Pro 2019). At first, I regretted doing it because it was quite slow, but now that the indexing is finished and the second update is complete, everything is back to normal.

I have a MacBook Pro 2019 as well but no updates available (I think I have the screen size that's not supported).

Did you find that Photos, especially, was very slow? That's my biggest beef is that Photos is sluggish - like 15-20 minutes to search for things once I type it, and even switching albums is horrid. That's why I'm wondering if a macbook Air would work, I basically only use Photoshop and Photos - and lightroom I guess ... and Chrome lol

Oh man, I have just upgraded two minutes ago and I'm still navigating (I have an imac). I hope there will be no problem. I updated my phone on Wednesday and I feel like it's slow to grasp that I want to scroll up to exit an app and the facial recognition was also slow.

I have the 16-inch. Which one do you have?

Everything was very slow for several days, and indexing took a long time to complete... but now it's better, and Photos is running smoothly.

I am going to wait it out for a bit before upgrading. I am just afraid that the first release of a new OS always have some glitches in it.

I have the 15 inch - apparently the 16" 2019 is the last to get the new MacOS
