Upcoming Downton Abbey movie

How many of you are excited to see the new upcoming Downton Abbey movie? I am so excited to see it but am sad they are calling it the finale. I wish they would create another series with the characters.
 
I'm so excited to see it. I just watched the whole series all over again. There really is nothing as good as Downton on t.v. now. Series have one or two seasons and then are done. I would also love to see something with characters as lovely as Downton characters.

That would be wonderful. I always hoped they would do a spin off of Downton Abbey with the new generation.
 
I love Downton Abbey! I'm looking forward to the finale, just because I love the characters so much. I'm a bit sad that there won't be any more.

There was always a good mix of upstairs/downstairs/guests in a show, but I think it would be interesting if they focused on one character and from their viewpoint, how they experienced the drama, even if the drama didn't involve them directly. You could do an entire season just for one character!

Cheryl, that is a great idea! I am hoping someone runs with something like this. If they went with Mary, she would still own Downton Abbey and that would be wonderful. Maybe even her son, grown up. I am just not ready for it to be completely over. I bought the DVD's and have watched the series over and over. I also bought the last Downton movie. sigh...................
 
I will have to put this on my list of things to watch. I have never seen any of them.

I am currently watching the Sons of Anarchy. My son suggested it and I thought no way would I like it, but I have so far.

Oh my goodness! Downton Abbey is the best series! I need to binge watch while I'm stitching before I watch this final movie.

Give it a try! I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I’ll have to look into that series! I’ve never seen any of them.
 
I'm very excited! I watch all the trailers, reels, etc., that are all over social media.

My mom got me started on it right before Season 3, so I binged-watched the first two seasons. I don't know how many times I've seen the series and the two movies.
 
We have decided to watch the whole series over again, too -- I'm excited about the movie, but does it have to be the finale??

It's coming out Friday. Do you think you will go this weekend?
 
I was just telling my hubby how excited I am for the movie to come out!

Downton Abbey is by far my most favorite series. I think I've watched the entire series 5 or 6 times, and I cry every . single . time .

I know, right! Even though we know what is going to happen, we still cry! That one scene still tears at my heart every time I see it! IYKYK!:(

Evelyn, no, I won't be going to the theater. We're visiting my parents soon, and it's not worth it to me to chance picking something and not being able to see them. I'll probably wind up streaming and/or buying the DVD.
