Any Birthday Celebration Suggestions?

My Birthday is coming up on January 23rd.
I don't have anything planned. I broke up a few months ago so I'm single. My brothers live in New York, my best friend too. My parents live two hours away, I just came back from visiting them for my Dad's 80th Birthday. I have nothing planned. Any ideas of something special I can do by myself, for my Birthday? Except Shopping, which I will do for sure! :p

Buy yourself a book you’re excited to read and take yourself out for a delicious dinner at your favorite restaurant. Enjoy your meal while reading - and the best part is you don’t have to agree with anyone over which appetizer to get!

Or if you enjoy the theatre and live within driving distance of someplace that does great shows, splurge on one expensive ticket for yourself, the best seat you can get, and savor every moment of a play or musical (and you don’t have to worry about whether your date is enjoying themselves or huffing and puffing because they don’t want to be there).

I’ve been happily married for 16 years, but I still love going to the theatre by myself and splurging on a meal at a restaurant even when my husband is out of town.

You deserve it!

And by the way, Happy Early Birthday! I marked mine on January 15th.

Happy early birthday to you!
What about having a day at the spa? Get a relaxing massage, manicure and pedicure? And a nice meal at your fave restaurant afterwards?

My fun "me time," which is a rare thing, is to have a line-up of old movies, popcorn and a good book. If a movie is having a slow moment, I'll read some of the book at the same time. lol

Let us know what you decide to do. I'll live vicariously through you!

Sending you early birthday wishes!!

I really enjoy shopping too - lol. I also really enjoy a nice manicure of pedicure, or better yet - a nice 60 minute massage!!

Please let us know what you decide to do!!

Wahoo! Birthday week twins! Mine is on Weds...

Eat your favorite food (no matter how many calories).

Do something nice for yourself (buy that thing you've had your eye on for months)

Have a "Life is too short to not buy/do/indulge in _______" moment.

Love the mani/pedi idea... I always love them and don't go often enough!

Be a tourist in your own town! Look up places / restaurants that people go to when they visit and have a staycation day!

Collect your "Birthday freebies" from relevant stores & restaurants in your area!

Do absolutely NOTHING if that's your jam!

Happy Birthday week to you!

treat yourself to a spa day and/or a wonderful dinner. How about an indulgent night in a nice hotel with room service?

Happy early birthday!
If I were you, I'd take the day off from work, and take the train/bus to a destination nearby that I've never been to. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just something new to explore! I'd go sightseeing, take pictures, enjoy a good meal...
Hope your day will be special!

My birthday is Sunday and this is exactly what we're doing Saturday. Hot stone massage in the am, lunch at a place I like, mani/pedis in the afternoon and then out for dinner. Sunday I'm getting all my freebies! Treat yo' self!

I hope you've had a wonderful day today, Vicky! Happy Birthday!

One of my favorite birthdays was in 2021, and I stayed home and read and napped, and napped and read. Later on in the evening I went to dinner (it was with my family), but the entire day was just for me!

Hope you're having a good birthday! I like doing escape rooms, bowling, just catching up with a few close friends, not really into throwing a huge party! Hope you're having some fun today or this weekend. Also, grab all the free birthday goodies! Free Krispy Kreme doughnut, brownie at Chick-fil-A, free Ulta Beauty, free Sephora, free bundlet at Nothing Bundt Cakes.... lots of fun freebies out there!

Happy birthday!
Hope you had a great day and did something just for you. Can't wait to hear what you've done in the end.
My favorite birthday: eat whatever you fancy (like ice cream for breakfast), walk while listing to an audio book, scrap with just bought goodies, watch something on YouTube, sleep, repeat.

Well a late Happy Birthday to you - you actually share my daughter's birthday. Looks like folks came through for all sorts of ideas, so I hope you had a great one.

Thank you all for your amazing Birthday wishes. You gave me so much joy.

I had a nice day. I slept in, which is a great feeling. I love sleeping so much. I did my nails, dressed up, makeup etc. and went for a small shopping spree downtown in my city. Unfortunately, although we have lots of famous US Chains in Thessaloniki, Greece, they don't give out Freebies for Birthdays. I guess they only do that in Canada and the Us.
I had a nice dinner and then I spoiled myself with a Pecan Cinnabon from Cinnabon ( which is my favorite dessert) and I also had a vanilla sundae with caramel sauce. Their Ice cream sundae is dreamy.
I took lots of selfies. Then my phone started blowing up. I had lots of calls and video calls, tons of messages, messenger messages and Facebook comments from family and friends.
This year was kind of depressing because I turned 49. I don't know how 15 years went by? I still feel 35. I'm grateful that I get the chance to live and to become older, but I was feeling a little down. Now I'm over it. It is what it is.
Next year is a milestone, so I have to start planning something BIG!!

Story Time!!
Last year was an AMAZING Birthday!!
My best friend was visiting from New York, we went out to dinner. Her sister was also here from Crete. I thought I was going to have a nice, calm Birthday dinner and call it a night. Yeah sure. LOL!
I also had a male friend of mine, who lives in Scotland, visiting the city during my birthday. He called to wish me a happy Birthday and I invited him over to the restaurant. My guy Friend from Scotland brought two male friends with him (they were already a little drunk) and another male neighbor, friend of mine, came and found us too. My two girlfriends went home, they had to wake up early the next day. So the Birthday Celebration continued with 4 male friends. I asked them, what do we do next? The restaurant was closing. They had an idea. I had no clue where we were going. We walked to a close by bar with 80's & 90's dancing music. It was an after bar, that stays open till dawn. I ended up getting a little tipsy, the boys already were LOL and we ended up dancing till 6 am. It was so much fun. They were hilarious. I partied like I was in my twenties. It was one of those nights that turn out to be a great night, totally unexpected and not planned out.

And of course I have to scrap about that night. So many things to scrap.
