I'm on the opposite side of the world from you guys and every time it's super cold there, it's always super hot here (the opposite)
this weekend, it's between 35-37'C (it's like 95-100'F) and I hate it
I love the cold weather more than the hot, I can layer and wear more when it's cold but when it's hot, I can't peel of my skin, lol![]()
We're going to have a hard freeze this week which is dangerous around here (Louisiana). All the city pipes are going to burst and we're going to be without city water for days and then a boil order for several more days. It happens every time. Sigh. Thankfully our house pipes have always been ok because Michael wraps the outside ones well and we keep heaters on all of them inside and leave them running a little. Praying that holds true this time as well.
I'm praying we don't have ice or snow this time. It's looking like most of the precipitation may actually go south of us with this one.
Like Eve, we're in the middle of summer here. It doesn't get as hot in New Zealand as it does in Australia, but it's hot enough for me.
The temperature has been between 23-26C (73-79F) the last few days, which means it's lovely in the shade, but anything over 25C and you don't want to be in the sun too long or it's burning. The ozone layer over New Zealand is pretty thin, so the UV risk is high. Even though Aussie temps are much higher, I feel we burn easier in NZ at lower temperatures. 30C (86F) is suuuuuper hot when you're in NZ, but quite bearable in Australia. So weird. It's a drier heat there, and more humid here.
73 to 79 degrees sounds heavenly! I wish we had that temp here all year round!

Tracie, did I hear on the news that you are under a blizzard warning today?!?! :crying:
I just read that on the news - texas and louisiana. that's scary!
where I live we have the infrastructure and "snow fairies" to help us handle all the snow.. I can't even imagine living somewhere where people don't have the proper things to deal with it.
We have some snow here in NW Florida!! Wild!
I'm a native Floridian, so I know about extreme heat and hurricanes and tropical storms, but I don't know about cold and snow. We actually got 6 inches, and in some places 7 inches. Still, it's twice what they were calling for at 3 inches.

Here in southwest Idaho, we usually have a fairly cold winter weather with some snow. Our temps up until this week have been 40s for high & 20s for low, but they are now highs around freezing and lows in the teens. Very little snow so far this season. I am just thankful we have had sunshine lately. Our area typically gets inversions (gray & overcast weather with bad air quality that can last 2-3 weeks) in January and February. We've dodged that bullet so far. Hope you gals with the really cold weather stay safe!
