2025 Bucket List

Happy (almost) New Year!!

As the new year approaches, I'm curious what your 2025 bucket list might look like ... places to go - things to see - things to accomplish ... Please share!!

My bucket list for 2025 is going to be pretty simple!! I'm saving up to buy an acreage, so we won't be doing a lot of fancy schmancy trips this year. We will most likely going camping once in the summer and call it good. I'm just super excited to finally be able to purchase a home and move out of state!

That's a great bucket list item! How exciting to purchase acreage and move!! Best of luck with your plans!!

The biggest goal on my 2025 bucket list is new employment for my husband. He's woefully underpaid & his job literally makes him sick (migraines, etc.) as he handles powerful chemicals all day long. We've been workshopping his resume & applying everywhere the last few months. I'm hoping that he'll receive a call or two to set up interviews starting next week.

Other goals include visiting my cousin after she moves to WA, a family trip this summer, throwing a successful birthday party for myself next month, organizing different parts of the house, and continuing to work on my novel. I just found out (really -- like an hour ago) about this amazing writers' trip to Paris this June but we'd only be able to make it work if my husband were to get a new job in the next month so I think it's going to turn into a bucket list item for next year.

My OLW for 2025 is "align" so I'll be examining and reflecting on many different aspects of my life and seeing which ones no longer serve me and which ones continue to fill me with joy. I plan on removing (almost) everything and (almost) everyone that is unhealthy or unhelpful from my life over the next year.

First up is hoping I get the all clear and release from the cardiac surgeon in January (to return to my regular cardiologist). I want to be back to local doctors.

Then I have 3 bus trip vacations scheduled. One the end of June, one the end of August/early September and one the end of September/beginning of October.

The June trip will be near a scrapping friend and she and I hope that she can meet up with me one day.

We're hoping to get to go camping at least once this year and we definitely want to take our son on a steam-powered train ride. If we can coordinate right, we can do their ice cream train: not too long for little guests, ice cream treats, and less expensive than a full-day excursion.

I'm also hoping that we can road trip to get the ultimate second opinion for my son but who knows whether I'll be able to pull it off. If we do, we plan to stop at a few touristy things on the way so it'll be a fun memory.

I have high hopes for a year of great scrapping but no specific goals; I kind of already had my scrapping dreams come true in 2024. (I never had much recognition in my first 10 years of digital scrapping and got 3 gallery standouts this year, plus featured on the Sweet Shoppe blog twice, all since July.) I also joined Cheryl's CT this year and I still have to pinch myself that it's real.

I have one kid graduating college this year, so that'll be nice. It's not a goal I have any control over; however, it would be nice not to visit any more loved ones in hospitals this year. Everyone needs to stay healthy! :)

This will be my daughter's last summer of travel softball, so we're planning on savoring these last moments as much as possible- even when we travel to not our most favorite places! ;) She'll be a senior- so lots of fun stuff coming up for her towards the end of 2025- last high school slowpitch season as well as choosing our December family vacation- right now she's thinking Caribbean!

Personally, I'm looking forward to a some of our debt getting paid off in 2025- we'll only have our house and one car payment after May 2025! My hubby is likely to get a promotion. Both of those mean that I may retire from clinical dental hygiene at the end of 2025. I would still do something part-time, but we wouldn't 'need' my income for bills. Clinical dental work for 20+ years has really taken a toll on my body. I'm working hard at stretching, moving more and trying to stay active. I really want to start eating a bit healthier (or just better nutrionally) in 2025 too!

I am working on this today and tomorrow. I'll come back later and post. It's definitely hard to look ahead as I feel like I'm just taking one day at a time, but I think it's such a valuable exercise to be intentional about my time.

My goals for this year are. 1. My son's graduation & a big party. 2. Taking him to the UK for his dream trip. 3. Focusing back on getting my back healthy again. It's in a lot of pain but I am working toward trying to fix it. I need to get it back a little better because I want to continue my walks, hiking, and yoga (which I haven't been able to do since it got worse). 4. Possible Apostle Islands trip with my husband. 5. Finish the two tests I need to do to complete my master's degree now that all my classes are finished. 6. Keep allowing
myself to read as much as I do. 7. Successful fundraising event for the library that I am planning in February. There's probably more goals but those are the ones I know now.

My big goal for this year is to spend less money. I have become a horrible spendthift and need to gain some control over my buying habits. Other than that, I would like to design more and also craft more. I haven't crafted in a while and I miss it. And of course I want to spend as much time with my grandbaby as I can. He is ten months now and walking. He is growing so fast and time is flying by so fast, that I want to figure out how to slow it and me down to just enjoy all the little moments.

Wow LeeAndra - your bucket list items are amazing!! I hope your husband can find different employment. I love your OLW for 2025!! Here's to a wonderful new year for you!!

I'm hoping that you get that all clear from the specialists! (Sounds like 2024 was a bit trying for you - healthwise - glad to hear you're on the other side of all of that !)

Your bus trips sound exciting! And - I hope you can meet up with your scrapping friend!! It's so cool when we can meet our online friends IRL!!

The little trips you have planned sound like so much fun!! I'm glad that 2024 was a successful scrapping year!! Congrats on the gallery standouts and shoutout recognition! Can't wait to see your gallery grow in 2025!

Congrats on having a college grad in your family in 2025! I'm hoping that this coming year requires no trips to visit loved one in the hospital!!

I hope you are able to savor those last special moments of your daughter being a senior! (Time marches on way too quickly!)

Congrats on your financial goals being met in 2025! That is huge!! And I hope that retirement comes to fruition by the end of the year!! (It's a pretty amazing feeling!)

Cheryl, I'm sure it's difficult to look ahead right now ... you are wise to take one day at a time. Sending you hugs!

Wow! Your 2025 sounds like it will be fun and full of adventurous trips and healing!! Good luck on the two tests you have left - congrats on your upcoming Mater's degree!! That's wonderful!!

How can your g-baby be 10 months old already Lorrie!? That time goes by so quickly!! I'm excited to see the awesome designs you come up with in 2025!! As for being a spendthrift - that's definitely something I need to work on as well!! (But hey! I like to shop! LOL!)

Actually 2023 was the trying year for medical reasons. The 3rd surgery to fix me up was in January 2024 after 2 previous surgeries in Oct and Dec 2023. The one year checkup in Oct 2024 for the 1st surgery was good so I'm hoping the one year for the 3rd surgery is the same.

I don't actually have any goals yet for 2025. I ticked off some major bucket list items last year (Europe trip, and my 2 girls finishing high school and university), so haven't really thought about what I want to achieve this year. Will mostly be supporting my daughters as one job searches and the other begins her university journey.

I'll have to think some more about specific goals.

Nothing specific for me this year, but I am excited to have another big family trip planned in summer.
This year, I just hope my son finishes elementary school well and gets into the junior high school that is nearer to our home. There are 2 schools where the students of his elementary school will end up at, both are in the neighborhood, but one will require him to cross quite a big and busy intersection twice a day to go to & from school, so I prefer him to go to the closer one to us. The public school system here won't let us choose which junior high school he gets to go to, so all fingers crossed here. :)

I also wish for a healthy year! 2024 was a year full of nursing the sickies and I am pretty exhausted by it.
