Would you rather be transported permanently 500 years into the future or 500 years into the past? And why?

I think I would choose 500 years into the future. I'm curious to find out how the world looks like 500 years from now and how technology is evolved. I think it will be very interesting to find out.

I love history as well, but not so much I want to be transported back in time.

At the rate we are going, I'm not sure I want to see into the future. But I am also spoiled by technology and luxuries, so not sure I could go backwards, either. If I had to choose, I guess, future.

Despite all the fear mongering, our world is safer and more just than it has ever been. I would choose future. Especially as a woman, I would NOT want to go back to 500 years ago when women were, essentially, property.

I also wouldn't want to go back in time to the Middle Ages.

I love history and learning about the way ordinary people lived, so if we were just visiting for a little while I'd want to go back in time. But if this were permanent, then it would have to be the future. I don't think I could stand to live in a time period when so many children never reached adulthood and people died of injuries and illnesses easily treated today.
