QOTD- Where are you all from?

I know we all come from different place around the globe but I'd be curious to know where everybody is and if I'm close to some people.

I live in Tacoma, Washington (US) and have lived here 10 years now.
I lived in Alexandria, VA for 2 years before that.
I originally moved from France where I grew up and have all my family still there.

I was born and raised near Philadelphia, Pa. since meeting my husband and marrying we have lived in many places:
Watertown, Wi
Novi, Mi
Wolverine Lake, Mi
Pennsburg, Pa
Watertown, Ny
Columbus, Ga
Washington, D.C.
Colorado Springs, Co

I'm originally from northern WI but we're an active duty military family so in the last 9 years we've also lived in:

Fort Bragg, NC
Fort Riley, KS,
Fort Carson, CO (and I'm so sad to have missed Wendy by like 2 months!)

We're currently Albuquerque, NM but anxiously awaiting our next assignment for 2018! Fingers crossed we get some place "good"!

I live in way northern Indiana (like 2 miles from the Michigan state line) just north of the University of Notre Dame campus and about 2ish hours east of Chicago and 2ish hours north of Indianapolis.

I was born in Georgia but moved up here with my mom when I was 2. I've lived for a few months in Virginia & Wyoming but otherwise am a Hoosier ride-or-die.

I grew up in SW WA- Chehalis/Centralia area! :)

After College- we lived in Olympia, WA for about 6 years and now have been in Spokane, WA for the last 6 years!

I know, I'm sad as well!! It would have been SO neat to meet up with another military family who gets digital scrapbooking. There's so much interest at every duty station, but when it comes to getting people together to do it, it always falls through.

I also think my son would have loved your kids!! <3
Maybe the next duty station we'll cross paths. Who knows. It's a small military.

It's a small military.

Ha! This made me laugh. I get what you meant, but really, you have a massive military. I remember once on deployment to Afghanistan, I was talking to an American who was saying he's from the smallest US military Base. Something like only 5,000 people stationed there. I had to laugh because our whole military (that's Army, Navy AND Airforce combined), would be lucky to number 5,000 total. :D

I'm curious! What do you consider to be a good place to live? Anywhere in particular you'd like?

I was born in West Germany, though I'm a US Citizen. I spent most of my childhood outside Washington, D.C.; I was a resident of the state of Florida, though I never lived there. I graduated from high school in El Paso, Texas, came to college in Dallas, and had a permanent mailing address in Honolulu, Hawaii.

So once I was out from under Uncle Sam's thumb, I decided to stay put for a while. It's been 23 years since I moved to the Dallas Fort Worth area, and I'm pleased to call it home. :)

Well, I'd love to get closer to home but we have no active duty Army bases in the Midwest (where I'm from) so that's out of the question. I really just want to live somewhere where the crime rate isn't astronomically high and that has GREEN! I've lived in the desert for the past 2 years now and it's so brown and dead-like. I need green to feel alive so I hate it here. But on a side note, there's tiny little anoles that live in my backyard and I catch them scurrying around my back patio often. Those little guys make me smile. I haven't experienced that anywhere else I've lived so I try to focus on that instead. :)

When you say that, that's funny!! I think they mean it like there are only so many military bases for the large amount. I think?! :D

I am currently living in Beijing, China.

Before that...
the first 4 years of my life: Surabaya, Indonesia
the next 11 years: Bali, Indonesia
then, 2.5 years in Shepparton, Vic - Australia
then 10 years in Liverpool, UK.

I live in Sugar Creek, Missouri (US). I've pretty much lived in Kansas City on the Kansas and Missouri side all my life.

I'm originally Russian, but born in USSR, married to a guy from Bahrain so I live here now for last 6 years. But since we spend a lot of time in a year traveling different countries so I can say I live in the World.

I'm in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Born and raised in Northern Alberta but spent my late teens and early 20's exploring. Spent a year as a high school exchange student in Norway, studied in Ottawa and then almost 4 years in The Netherlands before moving back home. Swore that I would never live in Edmonton, but I've been here for 11 years and can't imagine living anywhere else.

I think I actually know someone who lives in Sugar Creek! I need to go double check now. Not that I expect you to know them but that’d be funny.
