Scrappy Budget

I will have $50USD a month as my fun money (meals out, movies, clothes, haircuts and scrappy supplies). How do you manage your scrap budget? I've already allocated money for CC subscription and backblaze.

It's hard starting out on your own-money is always tight, especially as a student! One thing I used to do when my scrap budget was tighter was to buy myself a prepaid Visa gift card with the amount I was able to spend. That way I had to be honest with myself about how much I was spending. If I used it up before the 3 months was up, I didn't shop anymore. If people asked what I wanted as a gift, I told them a gift card to SSD. Another thing was to keep my supplies well organized. When I could see what I had, I knew when something really filled a need enough to buy it on a very limited budget.

I think supply organisation will help me decide what I really need - I actually haven't bought anything since NSD but I probably will want to once I start scrapping more.

Ugh. That's hard!! My budget has varied over the years, and even month to month depending on what else is going on and what else I have to spend money on that month. I like to eat out (I call it get out of dinner free card) so I'd have a hard time choosing between the two!

As an extra bonus, I use apps like Ibotta, receipt hog and receipt pal to earn extra PayPal money for scrapping. Not sure if you if those are apps you could use as well, but they add up and they're easy and a nice bonus!! But, I still try to budget and I sometimes blow right past it, even though I'll never be able to empty my mile long wish list!!

I have my scrapping money in my paypal account (no one hack now!!). Once it's depleted, there is no more money. If I don't use it, more money gets saved. It's a way to keep me accountable for what I spend. That way, when money gets low, I can think "do I really need this? What if something else comes out?"

If there is something that I want and miss the sale, I put it in my wishlist for when I have extra money in the account. Two weeks ago, I didn't fully understand the Saturday sale and missed buying a bundle that I really wanted. I went to buy it this week but the price wasn't the same and the sale price wasn't there. I'm saddened by it, but put it in my wishlist/favorites so I have it next time a sale happens since I screwed up the sale purchase.

If I don't have money in my paypal account, I just don't spend. if I have money in my paypal account, I have a little panic attack spending it because I know one day it won't be there :D

Checked all of those sites and I can't use them since I'm outside the USA.
