So...what is everyone doing for Valentines?

It's only a week away and I haven't organised anything yet. What (if anything) are you doing for your significant other this year?

We usually don't celebrate Valentine's day, but this year Valentine's day and Mother's day fall on the same date. Sadly hubby is working Saturday night so no sleeping in for me. Perhaps we can convince mil to babysit so we can go out and eat.

We usually don't celebrate it either. Last year I got tickets to see Amaluna from Cirque du soleil. I think that this year, we'll go out for dinner.

Working. And otherwise I would've stayed at home without my cats haha, not an interesting day when you're single.

Valentine's Day was a much bigger deal pre-kids. I'm doing the usual card exchange with my students and I'll make yogurt parfaits (pink yogurt, cool whip, strawberries, and M&Ms) with my kids and my students. DH and I will probably order dinner in, exchange cards, and give each other some chocolate or other traditional gifts. That's about it.

I usually buy my husband his favorite chocolate and we exchange cards. Not too exciting! I'd love to go out to dinner but it's a busy weekend here...

dinner and a movie is all we have planned. I'm sure we will do gifts of some sort. Guess I better get on that. I work all weekend so it kind of limits ideas.

We acknowledge it but don't usually do anything major. I try to avoid the public on holidays at all costs. This year DH works. We do have a day date planned for Monday to celebrate. We'll be doing seeing Deadpool and having lunch at the theater. ( we're super romantic eh :P )

No specific plans around these parts. We may go support the local play group with their murder mystery dinner theater show. Other than that, it will probably just be us staying home with the kids.

Valentine's Day is a double duty day in our house...Kennedy will be turning 5! :(
*insert my tears*
We will have cake and a few presents for Kennedy, but her party isn't until the 20th. And then for me and Jay probably just a nice dinner. Nothing too fancy.

We're going out of town, the 5 of us. The kids have mid winter break, so they have a 4 day weekend.

We have a funny tradition to go to I-HOP for dinner. While we were dating in college we wanted to go out for dinner on Valentines Day. All the super nice restaurants were packed with long waits. We both were hungry and saw I-HOP wasn't busy, so we went. So now we just made a tradition of it and go every year. Our son LOVES it because he loves pancakes. He calls it pancake day! lol

That's pretty cute.

Not sure... I'll be mourning because the next day is my son's first day of school! *gasp*

I kind of want to buy myself a big heart shaped box of chocolates. LOL. We will exchange cards, as we usually do. And we are going to a concert together next Thursday, so that's enough lovey dovey moments for us! :D

How is that possible Sherly?! ( hugs mama, I'm sure he'll do great )

I know! And he's so excited about it... He's been counting the date, every day. I told him a brief concept of date/calendar and he quickly picked it up and every morning asks what date it is.

What a fun tradition.

I love hearing everyone's plans!

Sometimes we get each other gifts, sometimes we don't. It really just depends if there is something one of us want.

I usually make a bigger deal out of it for the kids, I ordered Harper a play food set, Keira a CD for her Karaoke machine and a cheap Wii U game for Cooper. And I'll get them some candy.

I make a nice dinner for us, if we don't go out. But, over the next few weeks, we have lots of celebrating. LOL!

February 20th is our 15 year dating anniversary
February 28th is Cooper's Birthday
March 8th is the Hubby's Birthday
March 19th is my Birthday
April 3rd is our 12 year wedding anniversary

We'll do something bigger for one of those. LOL!

We don't celebrate the holiday. I usually buy the kids a mini box of chocolates and that's about as far as it goes.

We usually go out for dinner in a fancy restaurant but this year it won't happen because DH is working.
I wonder what do you guys mean by "card exchange"?

Some very good friends of ours are in town and that's one night we're all free, so we're just having dinner at our house.

We are going to dinner with our DIL and 2 grandbabies to the restaurant that our son manages and is the chef for ... He won't be able to enjoy the evening, but I know we all will!
I also bought little Valentine gifts for the kiddos ... and made a tag for each one and bought them each an outfit to put in their own Valentine gift bag. (The gifts are just cheapies ... a bag of Goldfish crackers with a tag that reads "We think you are a great CATCH Harper" ... and a little dinosaur for Greyson with a tag that read "We think you are DINO-mite Greyson". Lots of little goodies.)

i'll probably bake something, i think i made a layered cake with homemade marshmallow cream cheese frosting last year. hubby and i never do anything for valentine's. i told him when we first got together that if he ever bought me roses on valentine's day, i'd kill him. i'd rather go out to dinner, it's a better way to spend the money (a dozen roses are like, $80-$100 around here during the valentine's day season).

We are going on ski vacation with the kids. It's also President's day weekend here in the US and we get a 4 day weekend with an abbreviated mid-winter break (the Seattle School District struck, so we normally would have gotten the entire week off, but with the strike days, it was reduced). I tried to find some accommodations at Whistler, BC, but everything is booked solid within a 50 mile radius, lol.

We have a little one so won't get out, will exchange cards and a gift and I'll cook for us, we have lots of movies at home to catch up on so will probably watch something :)

This year will be doing nothing it is a bit sad because 2 days later whe are 5 years toghether , but whe are saving up to buy our first home so whe need every penny :)

We got tickets to go to the rodeo and Pitfall is the concert afterwards. We've lived in San Antonio three times and we've never been to the actual rodeo so this will be a treat!
