When you scrap (for yourself and not for a CT assignment), do you pick photos first or product first? Have you always done it that way? Why or why not?

photos always. Back when I used to scrap more frequently I actually would place my photos in templates to have that started and then wait until I was inspired with a kit to scrap with it :)

Products for me. When I see a kit I love, I think whether I could scrap something with it or not. It either inspires me or not. If I like the colors and the ellies/papers I go for it. However, most themed kits don't usually work for me as most of my photos are everyday shots with no special occasion.

Photos first!
But if I see a kit I love and know of a picture that could work I might scrap that way. And if I really love a kit I might dress my kids up in clothes that match said kit.

I go both ways. If I have photos already, I'm more likely to scrap with something I own rather than go shopping for a new kit. But if I see a unique kit, it could inspire me to make a page or remind me about a story.

When I scrap for myself I pick the photos first. I have a list of photos/events that I need to scrap. My goal is to try to use more of Cindy's Snapshot templates so I can get lots of photos on a page. I've been a one photo per layout scrapper for years!! I hope I can do it :P

It really depends. Most of the time I specifically buy certain kits for photos I already have in mind. but sometimes (especially when I seem to have a creative block), I will pick a kit that I really want to use and just make something and find pictures later (in fact I have 3 done and waiting for the perfect photo(s) right now LOL)... I find a lot of my better pages come from me just focusing on the kit first.

I swing both ways! Some photos I see, and it has me thinking I need this or that kind of kit. Some kits I see, fall in love with, and go out searching for the perfect picture for it!

Photos, though sometimes if I know there's a kit I bought a while back but haven't yet used I'll keep that in mind when I'm working out what photos to scrap, especially for a challenge.

It is a toss up for me. A lot of times I buy a kit with photos in mind so I will go through the kits on my hard drive and see which one is screaming to be used. Then I will use it and scrap the photos I already had in mind. Other times I start with photos. Honestly, I find I scrap MUCH faster if I start with the kits that I bought for specific photos. If I am just 'general' scrapping from my stash with nothing particular in mind I might change pictures/kits 5 times while trying to scrap one layout. When I buy a kit with pictures in mind and sit down to scrap using that kit and those pictures I can knock out a layout in 30 minutes or less. Otherwise plan on it taking me hours!

I pick photos first.
If I'm not making a CT page of Bingo page, I'm scrapping for my yearly album or vacation albums.
