Just got

I just got my test pages that I had printed in 12x12 and 8x8. The 12x12 ones are HUGE and almost uncomfortable to watch. Perhaps it's because I'm so used to looking at them on my tiny laptop screen?! I'm very glad I did order some test pages, because I would be heartbroken to spend so much $$ on a book only to have it turn out too big. Not saying I've decided if I'm to go with either size, but now I can at least look at them in life size. Now to find a place that prints 10x10 so I can try those out too before I decide.

What size do you print in and what is your positive/negatives about the size you chose/the one you didn't go for?

I love my pics to be large, so I print exclusively in 12X12. I just keep all of my text small so that it's not ginormous when it's printed! You don't realize just how bit the text/titles are until they're printed!

Did you check out scrappingsimply.com? I'm pretty sure they do 10X10

Only 12x12. I put lots of photos and text on some pages (mainly pocket ones) so I don't want them looking too tiny when printed... I also want to still be able to read them when I'm old!!

I have a decent sized monitor so I can see what a 12x12 roughly looks like on screen before printing.

I print 8x8 mainly for space. It's a lot easier to store them in books for me if they are smaller.

12x12 makes me really uncomfortable too! But i have some layouts mixed in my pocket album, and they've grown on me.

I only print 8x8... however I do have a few books in 8.5x8.5. I like this size better for storing on a shelf... I don't have bookshelves in my living room, so they are in a little bookend thing on the sofa table.

I use presto photobooks (use to be viovio.com) and they offer 10x10's. I started out printing 12x12, then went to 8x8 because of the price (shutterfly back then), but I switched to viovio back in 2009 and they offer an 8.5x8.5 size and it's perfect. That's all I've printed since then and I'll never go back, unless they were to go out of business, then I don't know what I'd do.

For every day stuff I prefer 8x8. I first went to that size because the 12x12's were just too big for little hands and my kids have always loved looking at the books. The 8x8 books are perfect for little hands and big hands too. :) - I have a few 12x12 books and I do find them kind of awkward to store. I have a cabinet that holds them but it is nearly full between my 12x12 photo books and my 12x12 paper scrapped albums so I doubt I will do any more. - I find the 12x12 kind of uncomfortable too. Everything is just too 'out there' I think. Even pages that have a lot of photos...

12x12 is huge for me too..my PL album is 12x12 though so I go with it...

I love the 10x10 size though totally going that route next year I think

I was a paper scrapper for many years before digi and always did 12 x 12 albums but when I first printed 12 x 12 pages I was stunned at how much "bigger" they were! I mean they were the same size but the digi ones just seem way too huge so I now I print 8 x 8 exclusively. So much easier to store but they also are so crisp and clear that I don't miss the 12 x 12 size at all. I may try 10 x 10 some day though just to compare.

I truly have a mish-mash of 12x12 with some 8x8 thrown in. I'd say about 75% or better are printed at 12x12. I'm lucky to have a big Kallax bookshelf and three other regular ones that accomodate the bigger books because I love the larger size.

I have printed in all three sizes- 8, 10, and 12. I find the ten inch perfect for reading the journaling and seeing the pictures.

I print 12x12 phonebooks and I love how big they are... You do have to be careful not to make your fonts too big though.

I love 12x12, but for money reasons print in 8x8. I just gave an 8x8 to my mom and she said she read every single line of journaling, even though she had a hard time doing so. I may consider that in the future when I print for the grandparents again.

I'm doing PL in 12x12 only cause its easier to get albums for that size in NZ

The text is what made me sceptical at first too, I can live with big pictures. I didn't get to check out scrappingsimply, but will do that as soon as the kids are in bed. Thanks :)

My loose pages are 12 X 12 but my photo books are 8X8.

I may have to mix it up next year and try the 8x8 prints.

I print 12x12 but hate when the test looks too large. I am now thinking a 10x10 might be nice to try out. I'm printing at blurb and will have to check if they print 10x10 books.

Mostly 12x12. The 8x8s seem way too small to me, especially for my text and photo dense pocket pages. I'd love to do 10x10, but there aren't albums available in that size to put loose pages in. I don't know why that size isn't more popular. When I print vacation photo books I like to do 10x10, but I've done all sizes for that depending on cost and coupons.

My books are all 12x12. I just make sure that I don't use large sizes of fonts. I love to pack a lot of photos onto one page so I like the bigger size.

I print in 8x8, I like the size for me, storage wise it is much better for my house. I printed one book in 12x12 but it was overwhelming for me as well!

I print 12x12 photobooks. I love how wonderful a big picture looks. I also like white space as part of my layouts too.

I will say, though, that it did take me some trial and error to realize how large a button really should be, and adjust it properly on my layout. After a few years I've worked out the proportions that I like on my layouts.

So I think it's good you are printing. Then when you scrap in the future you can make some tweaks if something looks too big!

Same here. I had one 12x12 printed for my daughter's 1st birthday dedication book and it was really huge I'm not so comfortable looking at the pages. One is because they're like "yeah, your shadow work on that leaf was too dark" or "yeah this picture was blurry and you still put it on me." Lol :)

I love my 8x8. I can stack them with my books and put them on the coffee table when friends and family come over.

I have one printed 12x12 album for us here and it's HARD to store....lol

I print 8x8 for all the gifts I give out and I have to say, I do like that size and might print my next album that size.

Just got my 12x12 digi layout book from Blurb and am very happy with the quailty. I do keep the fonts smaller so that they can print out at a reasonable size. I am going to keep a look out for a 10x10 photo book (on sale of course) in Canada or ships to Canada at a reasonable price b/c the US exchange rate sucks. Unfortunately, Blurb doesn't do 10x10 so can't get one thru them.
