Recently finished

The Pearl that Broke It's Shell - Loved this one.

Night Circus - Gorgeous setting and descriptions, storyline drove me crazy at times, but I enjoyed it.

More Than This - Took me a awhile to get into this one, but it ended up being a good ride.

The Walk On (preread for my son)

Reading now
The Miniaturist

The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey (with my son) - Really loved the first one. This sequel is good too, but doesn't measure up to the original.

Next up...?
I've requested several of the Sweet Read nominations from the library. I'll read whichever of them comes in first.

I mentioned in the other thread, but I read Ready Player One last week. Seriously, SO good. Plus, I heard this week that it's going to be a movie directed by Steven Spielberg! That will be one I hire a sitter so I can see it in the theater!

Currently, I'm reading The Martian which is also being made into a movie with Matt Damon. It'll be out this November. I'm about 1/2 way through so far, and I REALLY like it.

Next up will be this John Grisham novel because I have it checked out from the library.

Not sure what I'll read after that, but I'm sure we'll have another one of these threads before I have to figure it out! LOL

After starting and stopping a few books, I'm reading The Replacement Wife -- and I think I'll finish this one!

I have a bunch of books on wait-list at the library that I'm pretty close to the top of the list on. If one of those comes in, I'll start it. If not, I'll probably read:

I enjoyed Book of Lost Things, Nikki. I gave it 3 stars, but it would have easily been a 4 or 5 star rating for me if he had simply left out all the rehashed nursery rhymes and stuck with his own wildly original and wonderful prose. it just felt like they really bogged the storyline down, without really adding much. although, I probably would have/could have appreciated his spin on them more if I had read this a few years back, before the market became so oversaturated with the concept. I reallyreally like Connolly's writing style and am happy to have discovered him.

I'm changing my currently reading book to Wool - it just came in from the library. And it's excellent!

I liked this book a lot! I haven't read a novel for almost 6 months, so I was rusty and needed something like this. It was a fast read and interesting, which kept me reading. I would suggest it.

I am currently reading this with my kids. We are loving it!

This was just cracked open today... but I'm worried because it didn't immediately grab me:

I loved that one. Funny, I just suggested it in Lydia's thread. The characters grabbed me from the start though. Let me know what you think if you decide to keep reading.

Brook! We read Caddie Woodlawn in elementary school and then acted out the play! I was her cousin with the dress with all the buttons! I believe we actually visited her house when I was younger too. The perks of growing up in the north woods!
