Challenge Bingo FAQ!

I have a question about challenge 14 : be inspired : ssd instagram
i'm not on instagram and i checked SSD facebook - instagram feed and so many layouts and products came up...

is this challenge for the ones with hashtag signs?
i only see #dreamteam, #birthdaybash, #snOMG, #scraptherapy
did i miss something?

I am assuming the "24/7" challenge must be 24 photos from 7 consecutive days, correct?

That is what I did, but I would assume that as long as you try to interpret the challenge the best to your ability you would be safe. :) So if it ends up being 8 days , etc. no one would disqualify you I wouldn't think!

Eve, I'm sorry I missed your question earlier this month. Did you get it straightened out? The hashtag thing is a separate "hashtag of the week" thing that we do. I'd say that you could choose ANYTHING that you see on SSD's instagram and be inspired by it.

And yeah Jennifer, Crystal is right. As long as you're scrapping in the spirit of the challenge, we aren't gonna come hunt you down. :)

thanks Libby!
I kinda figured it out that it could be anything from the ssd feed by seeing what others did on their page :D

The deadline to post is midnight on the first of the month. Does that mean midnight at the end of the first, or midnight at the start of the first?

Need some help with prompt: 4 corners. Do you just need to have something in the 4 corners of your layout? Any suggestions would be great! :)

I have a question about one of the May challenges.
What am I supposed to do about the "Show us your flair" challenge? I'm not sure I understand the meaning.
Any help is appreciated :)

I would take that to mean doing a page with some flair on it. There are several packs in the shoppe, and most kits have at least a couple in them.

Here's what they look like (this just just one example of the many in the store)

I am wondering what "Fill in the __________ " means? I am not sure what that one is looking for? Thanks for any help!

I was wondering for the 9 square, 30% part of the challenge can the layouts be for the upper right and lower left instead of the upper left and lower right?

I think you could go a couple of ways with this one.

You could literally FILL a blank canvas or you could go more journally and do like madlibs style journaling or a fill in the blank interview with your kids or something along those lines.

My Favorite Food is __________
My Best Friend is ________

Etc.

Hope this helps!

Throwback Thursday. It's a social media thing where you post older photos / memories as a "throwback" to another year / decade / etc.

I'm working on a coverall but struggling with the nautical square. I'm just NOT into that trend enough to have/buy any kits with that theme. Would a page using "nautical" colors (red, navy/dark blue, white) count?

I think that would work! Remember, we aren't trying to discount layouts you girls create, so if you did your best to scrap in the spirit of the challenge, you'll be just fine :)

Awesome. I usually just go with whatever idea I have for the challenge without worry, but for that one, I keep second-guessing myself. ;) Thanks!

Hi! I'm new to the forum, not the shop. I'm going to try your challenges for the first time this month, but first I have some questions. Thanks in advance for any help!

1.) I have a good amount of SSD items, both new and old. I understand that the goal is to use kits/templates that are currently in the store, and I will do so. However, are we allowed to, at times, use old/retired kits from current designers or a template from a designer I think is no longer here? (I have to double check that she's no longer here. I hope she is because I have a Lot of her templates.) If she is no longer here, I would assume (I know that is bad to do) that her template would just be considered an outside template.

2.) What does "spin-a-lift sugarbabe marnel" mean?

3.) What does "stack it up" exact mean?

Ack! I just noticed that there isn't an edit button?! How am I going to live without an edit button? Lol! The OCD in me is going to HATE that!

I forgot to add another question.

4.) To we have to upload our layouts to the gallery and link to the products used in addition to putting the layouts on the Bingo card?

Omgosh! I'm So Sorry to post again in this thread. I just tried to post my general site question under a Sweet Little Community section, but it said that I don't have permission to do so. I don't know why.

Well, my question is about siggies. Are there any rules for them?

Hi there! So glad you're joining in with us!

We have some spam filters in place, so that's why thinks are a little wonky for you. I changed your permissions, so most things should work better for you now (I think you can start threads and edit them now). Things still may be a little weird til you reach 10 posts, but that'll clear up automatically. The quickest way to get to that magic number of 10 is just to leave some comments in the gallery. :)

To answer your questions:

1 - Anything from a current SSD designer is fair game. That includes freebies, retired items, or items that you got elsewhere. As long as she's a current designer, it counts. Items from designers who are no longer here just count as outside product.

The official rule states

You must use Sweet Shoppe products for the bulk of your page. Outside templates, minor accents, etc. are perfectly ok as long as at a glance the page is obviously created with products from our shoppe and designers!

So, the templates you mentioned should be just fine. :)

2 - Spin-a-lift of Sugarbabe Marnel: Spin-a-lift is an old SSD challenge. Basically, you look through Marnel's gallery (she's a sugarbabe: the site creative team), and choose one of her layouts. Then you flip it or rotate it around someway and "scraplift" or use her design as inspiration for your own page.

3 - Stack It Up - This one sounds like it's pretty open to interpretation. I'd just take it to mean to do a page with things stacked up... maybe you have a stack of photos peeking out from behind a main photo. Or maybe you stack up some flowers/buttons/foliage on top of a photo... as long as you've got something stacked on the page, you'll be fine.

4 - You should definitely upload to the gallery, and while we love & appreciate links to the product, that part isn't really necessary. You can simply say "XYZ kit by Libby Pritchett" in your credits.

I hope I've answered everything for you, but if you have more questions, just holler!

Thanks so much for answering my questions!! Most of all though, THANKS for changing my permissions because that gave me an edit button!! The JOY!!! Lol! :D

Just a quick question. For "currently tending" can we scrap about some recent activity or do we have to do something that is a phase right now or popular right now? I wanted to scrap a recent outing but if that doesn't count I can pick something else.

I have no authority to answer your question, but since the challenges are open to interpretation, my plan is to scrap using a/some trendy patterns/shapes/etc. Like chevrons or ombre or something like that? Mostly posting this here so someone official can shoot down that idea if it's not kosher, lol. ;)

To play along, check out this month's Bingo card and start planning your strategy for earning the discount you want. Our Bingo challenges are designed to be fairly simple, straightforward and open to interpretation for the most part, so have fun with them! Remember, as long as you try to scrap in the spirit of the challenge as it's posted, you'll be just fine, but let us know if you have any questions!

It stated that the challenges are open to interpretatio, so for trending now, we can intrepret as what's trend in digiscrap (PL, gold or ombre like nowens said) or life's trend (instagram, the latest music trend, etc) ;)

Hello, I have a question, is this considered as a flower? TIA!

I know they're called "accordion flower" but to me it looks more like a badge or something. Wouldn't consider this a flower on my page.
