What shows should I watch next?

The Vikings is one I want to start, I am imagining it to be like Game of Thrones. I hear Rome is good too. Another one I hear is good but didn't get around to would be Boardwalk Empire.

Oh another one I need to pick back up... Hell on Wheels

I haven't watched shows on Netflix in a while so not sure what's on there, but I really enjoy Justified, Vikings, The Americans, The Walking Dead.

OMG I totally forgot one that I love... Dead like Me. Kind of a twisted drama/comedy about a girl who gets killed by a toilet seat and then learns to be a grim reaper. This series is over but ends with a movie so you get closure.

Another one similar to that is Pushing daisies.

Oh and one of my all time favorite shows... Firefly it was only one season but ended with a movie so it's all wrapped up. LOVE this show (its sci fi) and has a major fan following even though it was only one season but with the movie at the end you get a complete story.

If you like Breaking bad you HAVE to watch Shameless.
If you haven't seen the walking dead, prepare to set aside some serious quality time with the TV. One of my all-time favorite shows, hard to pick between the walking dead, breaking bad, shameless and Sons of Anarchy. They are all so fantastic.

I am to scared to watch the following! My husband loves american horror story, but I am way to much of a chicken to watch that one although I hear it's fantastic.

I seriously watched OITNB in less than 36 hours now got to wait over a year to see the new season lol

I've watch all 8 season of bones they just finished up the 9th in May.

Psych and Chuck were two of my favorite shows and then they had to get cancelled made me so mad.

Also binged watched Breaking Bad lol that was fun haha

The following was really good its second season hope it will be on netflix soon.

24 was really good it took about 3 months to watch 8 seasons watched 2-3 episodes a night

I really got to watch the walking dead

White Collar and Suits are really good, I am sad that White Collar is ending this year. Matt Bomer is so yummy to look at hehe.

I watched the first two, I think, seasons of Once Upon A Time. I loved the first season but got really bored with the second one. I stopped recording it to the dvr long before we let go of our satellite TV. I might try and catch up later by streaming it though.

From what I read, Season 2 ended up going in a different direction, because Colin O'Donoghue broke his leg (Captain Hook). Season 3 is pretty great, they go to Neverland in the first half of the season.

I'm watching West Wing Now, we'll see if I stay into after Rob Lowe's character leaves. ;)

I'm adding
MI-5 (anyone watched this?)
Gossip Girl
Bomb Girls
Suits
Chuck
Alias (what about this, anyone watched this, I never did when it was on)
Land Girls (another British show I'm curious about)
The Killing
Supernatural (Netflix seems to think I'll like this one, LOL!)
Friday Night Lights

I have a few others on my list, but I think Sean would want to watch them with me
Hell on Wheels
Sons of Anarchy
Longmire
Robin Hood
Lost

American Horror Story, I LOVED the first 2 seasons, I did not like last season, I only watched about half of the episodes and stopped.

DH and I just started rewatching Dexter. I watched it very sporadically and DH watched it but his memory is awful, so we're rewatching it this summer.

Chuck is the BEST!!!
We also really like:
Psych
Elementary
Person of Interest
Growing Up Fisher (bummed they cancelled it!)
About A Boy
House
White Collar
Heroes
There are so many good ones! It's hard to choose!

I'm now on Season 2: Episode 3 of Orange is the New Black. It's safe to say that I think I'll continue to watch it. LOL!

Breaking Bad, I just can't get into.

I really hated this show when we first started it. It really hit home way too hard for me. But once I got a few episodes in, I was better.
Once we were a full season in, it wasn't so hard to watch because the "use" wasn't a focus.
In the end, we were liked the series and were kind of upset that ended, but it was probably time.

If you like Dr Who you need to check out Torchwood. I think it's actually better than Dr. Who.

^ this. I think a lot of people get bored with the Who episodes. Torchwood has a lot more going on throughout I think. Love both though.

If you people like SciFi ish stuff, Orphan Black is definitely one to check out. I am super duper sad I have to wait until Spring next year for S3. :crying:

As everyone wno is friends with me on FB knows, I'm currently watching binge watching 'Grey's Anatomy' and then posting random observations as status messages. I just started Season 3. :p

Even Hubs is watching it with me!

Yeh? Not so much on this side of the pond LOL (at least not in that way)

LOL it must be a British thing then I guess? :D Everyone says I'm well spoken for where I come from, I assume that can only be a good thing but not sure where I've picked it up!

The reason why Season 2 is incoherent is, indeed, because it changed direction mid-season. But as far as I know, it was because the authors acquired rights for Peter Pan. From that point on they sacrificed all plot development for adjusting everything for the new Neverland arc. Colin's broken leg was surely a factor, too, but the major reason was this. I agree Season 3 is great!

Yeah, I saw that after I saw the info about Colin breaking his leg.

I got Kyle hooked on Game of Thrones so we just finished that. The boys convinced me to buy Supernatural season 1, so now we're devouring that one. I've got Downton Abbey and Once Upon a Time, but haven't started either yet.

We use the word Yeah but now quite in the same way. I would use the word yeah as an agreement... "yeah, I like that too" Or for something exciting "YEAH!!!! go team." I wouldn't use it at the end of the sentence like she does... "Lets go here, yeh?"

Too funny. Although around here the F word is used very frequently, for many reasons. Any guesses on which state I live in? LOL So it's not really about being well spoken, it's more about the repetition of the phrase. Repetition in general is something I am sensitive to.

THANK YOU all who suggested the killing! I have watched pretty much everything mentioned that is availible on netflix and hulu (can't bring myself to pay the cable man the big bucks for the other stuff!). I just finished the second season of the Killing and I want to cry I'm so happy that there is a season 3 (AND 4 now) to watch! Holy crap, great show!

Also, in addition to what has been mentioned (forgive me if I missed someone saying this one)... anyone who wants to watch a love to hate-them type of drama, I totally recommend The Tudors. Gah! I've never ever hated a character as much as I hated Henry the 8th in that series, but I still binge watched it until he got old and died because it was one of those dramas that just sucked me in... after that I had to watch The Borgias which was also awesome in the juicy drama sort of way... HOWEVER do be prepared for a gratuitous amount of sex in either of those, I seriously muted a good bit of those shows on account of the humping sounds... seriously... LOL...

LOL Oh yeah I completely forgot about the Tudors!! Great suggestion!! I'd say I hate Anne Bolyn almost as much as Henry though considering he was married and destroyed Catherine. And that hatred has carried over into hating her in Game of Thrones too because I know what she is like LOL.

I haven't seen the Borgias yet, sounds like something I would get into.

Alias is great Vanessa... binge watched that awhile back. It may seem a little dated now, but if you like girl power and spies and Bradley Cooper...yummy... it's totally worth watching.

I'm watching OITNB, The Americans and Homeland right now but love a lot of stuff that's been mentioned here.

The killing is SUPER awesome and well deserving of more hype since people rarely talk about that one.

Gossip Girl is my guilty pleasure but I can only binge watch a season at a time and then I need a few weeks off or it starts feeling repetitive because it really is pretty shallow.

This Killing is awesome! We just started season 4 last night!

Others we watch or have watched and love:

Orange is the New Black
Game of Thrones
Breaking Bad (I think it took several episodes for me to get in to it, but so worth it)
Dexter (started going down hill after season 3 or so, but I still finished it)
Nurse Jackie
Ray Donovan
Walking Dead (love love love)
The Blacklist
Downton Abbey
Sherlock (love)
Luther (maybe on bbc...it's a british show)
Homeland

Not sure if you can get some of these though...we pretty much have every channel now plus Netflix and Amazon.

I will say that with shows like Breaking Bad and OINTB, you really have to watch a good 3-4 episodes before you can decide if you like it, so I think you've got a good plan, Carrie. I also think neither of those shows is for everyone. I have friends that I know wouldn't like it even if they tried due to the violence, nudity, cursing. We tried to watch Breaking Bad last summer and couldn't get into it. Tried again this year and watched the first 4... and by then we were hooked.

I totally agree.

Besides the alreadyecommended Orange is the New Black, Sherlock, and House of Cards, there's Battlestar Galactica (son and I are in about Season 3 of 6 or 7) and Firefly. Firefly is so, so great. And I say that impartially, not because my HS boyfriend worked on it in the Art Department. :)
