Sweet Shoppe SugarBabe
of digi supplies from SSD for a newbie to scrapping or our store, what products would you tell them to get?

Will you link me up?

So many great products but I think these are 2 amazing basic everyday kits
This kit

This one

And the freebies, they are a great way to start out and try products!

:D Because I think everyone should be using their own handwriting on their pages !

^this!!!

I absolutely adore having my handwriting in a font, I told Darcy when she did it that I wished I could go back and re-do all of 2013 PL pages with it. I'm settling with it being my main font for this year's.

^ I was going to recommend the drop shadows too.

Also- templates. Scrapping in the beginning can be very frustrating without templates.

La's Layered Up in Yous (any)

Any of Traci's stitches

Shawna has lots of great alphas, but this one is a must have

(lots more, but my son is asking for supper. hmph)

These are great suggestions and some of them are things that I use frequently, but if I were a newbie scrapper I'd feel overwhelmed with too many bits and pieces. I'd probably want templates (regular and Project Life), shadows, and a few good kits that matched who or what I'd be scrapping.

So for a generic suggestion list (assuming this is meant for something along the lines of a blog post rather than you having 1 person in mind), I'd include:

-baby kits (1 boy and 1 girl or a gender neutral kit)
-3 kits good for a wide range of ages (1 boy colors, 1 girl colors, 1 easy to use for both)
-a wedding kit
-a Christmas kit
-a kit for each season
-a Project Life/everyday moments kit

I agree with everyone. Here would be my go tos:

  • Drop Shadows (I love Jenn's)
  • Either your handwriting in a font or some other Darcy font
  • Great set of templates (both element like La's LUIYs and page ones)
  • Stitching (I use either Libby's or Traci's)
  • Two or three fabulous alphas (Shawna and Traci make great ones)
  • 1 or 2 fabulous everyday kits that will be used over and over.

These are some kits I just keep using over and over:

And, if you'll be scrapping a lot of outdoor pictures I would consider adding a kit with more natural elements for outdoor adventures.

Like this one!

Not a specific product suggestion, but I would try out a few things from the freebie section to see what sorts of elements, colors, kits work best and use that as a guide for selecting the first few full kits to purchase.

One of the things that I loved most when I was getting started were the magazine things that the shop used to have. I think I still have all of them burned to a disc somewhere. lol
