Do you all upload full size photos, or do you reduce for web? I reduce for web, but I'm wondering if I need to?

usually full size. Unless I am uploading to an album then I may resize simply to make it faster. I somtimes use those photos for my default pic.

web. I don't want people(aka crazy family) being able to print good copies. They want good copies, they have to ask me for them.

I upload the web one --- I just use the one I have for SSD. I upload it to SSD and then upload it to Facebook. No, I don't upload full size and won't - it takes too long (I'm impatient, lol) and I also don't want anyone to have access to it. They're mine - people can look, but I don't want them taking :)

I don't upload fullsized. I'm not too concerned about my family saving or printing the fullsized versions...I just don't want to wait for that size to upload.

I resize, because I dont want to wait for the upload! Plus I am usually editing them anyway, so one more little step is not a big deal.

I upload my SSD version when upoading LO's

For photo's there's an option to upload at full size or not (and a warning that says it takes 10x longer), so I just let them upload without clicking full size.

I upload full size. Because I do want my family to be able to print them if they want to. I have family all over and I want them to get to them quick. Especially since I don't have the time or money to mail the photos or layouts to them.

I'm way too lazy to resize, but I also don't post many photos on FB. I'm surprised that so many people don't want their families printing photos. Are you worried they are going to do something with them besides display them?

I just don't like the idea of people just printing off my kids' photos without me knowing. MIL is the worst about it and since I don't really know her - neither does my husband - I'm just not comfortable with it.

Considering the drama we've gone through with DH's ex and my exSIL(who only remains on my facebook with minimal access so we can see what she posts since my stepkids are friends with her and unaware of the drama), I don't want them having free access to this stuff.

My mil is psycho and before we blocked her completely she would dl all my photos and put them in her own album on fb. She is friends with all sorts of other crazies and ppl I don't know...would drive me nuts!

I never upload full size - must be a habit from the days when everybody was on dial-up and you didn't want it to last a lifetime to upload and see. Anyway, I prefer not to post full size for safety reasons as well. Whatever precautions you take, once it's up, it stays there, so why take the risk.

For me, it's not that I worry what my family will do with them. I'm a photographer! I really would rather my prints not be printed at Walmart! LOL That's the only place my mom prints. I tell her every time, if you want prints, let me know which ones & I'll order them through my pro lab so their high quality! Even if it's just snapshots. Nope, she wants the dirt cheap crappy ones from walmart! & I know for a fact that she prints my brothers' pictures off of FB so I know she'll try it with mine!

My layouts are all resized, but most other photos are full size. I honestly haven't thought about it a whole lot, I just wanted my pics to look good when I upload them. However, the thing about friends of friends being able to see and print them kind of weirds me out - I don't mind at all if my family takes and does whatever with my photos for themselves, BUT I don't want them posting them on their own FB pages and then having who knows who looking at them. Thankfully I've never seen any of my family or friends post my pics on their pages so far. This definintely has me thinking now.

I always resize, I've never even thought about uploading full size. maybe it is a throwback to dial up days but I guess it's also for safety reasons too!!! :D I never upload more then 10 to 15 photos as a time so it's not to bad resizing them!!!

I've always loaded my layouts web size since they're already small for the galleries. Then I reduced photos out of habit really. I don't think I've ever uploaded full res anything to the net.

Thanks for everyone's input. I think I'll keep everything web size as I have been.

Obviously people should absolutely do what they are comfortable with, but I would venture to guess that more often than not, people on FB aren't very savvy with the difference between web and print resolution and go right ahead and print the web versions without giving it a second thought.
