i don't usually do this. but i figure that i'm allowed every so often. or whatever.

my grandmother, a cancer survivor for almost 15 years, was diagnosed with renal call carcinoma today, after having a kidney and part of her diaphragm removed last tuesday. she's 70 years old. and i honestly don't know if she has the strength in her to survive a round of chemo. because she's pretty damn weak to begin with.

so if you guys could spare a prayer or a thought or something for my family? it'd be great. cause i'm totally not ready to deal with this, and i don't want to lose her.

thanks.

Sending thoughts and prayers to you and your family! And lots of ((((((((((hugs))))))))))!!

thank you everybody. :hugs:

she's out of ICU today, so that's a good thing. it's just gonna be a "time will tell" thing i guess. i just wish i was home where i could help.

she took a turn for the worse, and it looks like she doesn't have much longer. and now i'm trying to figure out how to get home. so yeah. if you girls could keep those prayers coming? i'd appreciate it.

I got home. My fiance found a decently priced plane ticket, and I flew home this morning.

She is now home. With hospice. The doctors said somewhere between 24 and 72 hours. So we'll take it day by day. I'm telling myself that she's gonna be fine. She's more "alert" now than she was at the hospital, so I said "well, she's home with her cats, so she'll get better". I know it's silly and selfish, but it's keeping me from totally losing it.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. My family truly appreciates them.

I dont think it is silly or selfish. It is hard to let go of someone you love and totally normal to wish for her to get better. Ill be praying for you and your family. Glad to see you were able to make it home.

Understandable.

I'm glad you are able to be there. You and your family are in my prayers.

Not silly or selfish at all. I think a lot of us would probably do the same thing if in the same situation.

I'll be keeping you, your grandma and your family in my prayers. I'm glad you made it home to spend some time with her.

Big hugs!!!

She took her last breaths at 11:45 this evening, it all happened really quickly. My aunt was holding her hand, and everyone was there. I am glad it was quick, and that she's no longer suffering.

Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate them.
