Shopping rant (kinda long)

I spent the weekend at the City while my daughter was at her dance competition, and did some shopping, I am a die hard Victoria's Secret Bra shopper, but sadly we don't have them up here in Canada, so every once in a while I decide to save on the shipping and buy from a store up here.

I decided to try a new store this time, La Vie En Rose, I bought one of those seamless ones and wore it on the weekend, (read, most uncomfortable bra ever!!) Once we got home I put it in the wash bag I got with it and washed it on the gently cycle, like the bag says! I returned to the washer to fit it IN PIECES, totally fallen apart:mad: (read $40 bra in pieces) I went back to the city and back to the store, where I was told, THERE WAS NOTHING THEY WOULD DO ABOUT IT!!!

Like I said I have purchased several from VS and NEVER have had one fall apart, even when I have slipped and put it in the washer on regular cycle and the dryer!

I have put in an email to the stores Regional Sales manager and am waiting to see what she is going to do

Remember this if you ever think about shopping at La Vie En Rose

Oh that is terrible! They should totally refund you when their product falls apart after one wash cycle (on gentle at that!). I too am a diehard VS girl! Hope you get good news from your email!

Tangent: Victoria's secret is that she doesn't like buxom babes as her bras are not big enough for my gurls. :P

AWW that is too bad, but I know what you mean, I am too small for the nice ones, I can only buy the good old 'every day ones"

Oh that sucks! I cannot belive that they wouldn't take it back!

I like VS also and I'll usually buy a few bras that last me forever from them, which is nice because they are pretty pricey!

I only wear VS. I actually have a coupon from them I need to go spend. I need a good strapless/convertible bra.

And I wash them with the rest of my wash and put them in the dryer, cuz I hate doing laundry. There is no gentle cycle in my world :p

LMAO... there is no gentle cycle here either. Heck, I don't even seperate whites and colors!

I mostly separate darks from lights. As long as there are no reds in my lights, I don't care, lol.

Plus, Jordan and I still do separate laundry for the most part (he is ANAL about it, and I inevitably do something wrong and get yelled at, so I gave up long ago) so I never have enough for JUST whites. So whites is lights for me. Including jeans if they've been washed before (not brand new) and the dark pile is too big, lol.

oh that is bad bad customer service! I hope the regional mgr makes things right.

(LOL abt the no gentle cycle)

That is horrible...I have returned stuff there before and never had a problem.....I hope it gets fixed for you and soon!!!!!

LAUNDRY: I have just recently started doing larger loads with mixed stuff too. I could literally do 3 loads a day (it sucks!!!!)

MIMI: I LOVE YOUR NEW AVATAR........

I LOVE Vickis!!! I try and hit their semi annual sale each time to stock up

sorry about your bad shopping experience..

I actually don't like VS bras -- after a couple washings the straps always seem to get warped and the cup start to sort of turn out at the edges. I've started buying from Target, believe it or not, they are cheap and good quality (oh, and look nice too). Can't ask for much more than that.

OMG I would be furious!! I am a total VS fan myself and can totally attest to their quality! I am so sorry that you had such a crappy customer service experience. Especially with a 40 dollar bra!!

I've never heard of La Vie en Rose...???

Tangent: Victoria's secret is that she doesn't like buxom babes as her bras are not big enough for my gurls. :P

I UNDERSTAND! I was really big for my stature and could never buy from Victoria's Secret. I was 19 and my boobs were LOW for a girl my age b/c they were so huge. One day I came out of that store crying....cried to my mom (who I never really cry to b/c we're not really close in that "sharing stories about life" kind of way) and told her I wanted a breast reduction....I GOT ONE!!

Now I can shop there. Shortly after my surgery (Dec. 26th, 2003) they were having their half-yearly sale and I went on a SHOPPING SPREE! I love the Gap Body stuff and they were having a sale then too. So p.s. - I have about 26 bras. LOL. Ridiculous! But I was so happy I could get fun sexy bras I bought a few cool colors and styles b/c I was able to wear them for the first time!

That is SO annoying!!!

I'm a Canuck, so no VS unless I get online to order it. I buy from LaSenza ALL the time, even my jogging bras are from there. The quality is amazing, they are a bit pricey, but well worth it to me. Yes, I've accidentally thrown them in the washer AND the dryer and they came out ok, I just wouldn't recommend doing it frequently LOL! I noticed the last time I was in splurging, that they had some VS fragrances and stuff in there, so perhaps VS bought them out or something.

Sorry to hear about the bad shopping experience :( The ladies at La Vie usually aren't very helpful or friendly for that matter, I have the big boob problem too, well not so much since I had Jade, but I still don't usually fit into there bras.....hope you hear from them soon!

Those sprays smell SOOOO good!!! I used to order them from VS, but now have the luxuary of buying them at La Senza, yay!!

they will do nothing about it!?!?!?! what the heck. i sure hope you get a fair resolution (ie. your money back, especially since it is canadian and worth more then mine! LOL)! that is such crap! i cannot believe that.

thats not right!! they should have given your money back! and i do love a good Victoria's Secret bra too! Too bad i don't have boobies like the models though (plastic surgery, here i come, someday!)

I also don't separate my laundry like i'm supposed too. i'm lucky i get it done period let alone spend extra time separating it, lol!

i feel the same way! i haven't been able to wear a VS bra in many years. lol. it's a goal, though. i'm working on getting the insurance company to pay for a reduction.. -nods-

but anyway. back to the point at hand.
if it fell apart, they should refund you. plain and simple. their product fell apart. you didn't do anything stupid. you washed it correctly. and it still fell apart. their problem. you should fight it.
i'm sorry you spent the money and it fell apart, though. {hugs}

I haven't bought a new bra in forever, but I was looking at La Vie the last time, but I decided to wait it out. I highly doubt I will shop there now. Prefer La Senza anyways, and I have never had a problem returning stuff there if need be.
I would love to try VS one day. lol

I got a reply from the Sales Manager

"I am glad to know that the store followed store policy on NO RETURNS on UNDERGARMENTS, but seeing as you seem to have gotten a 'bad'item we will gladly exchange it for you" ( Since when does a bra store not return undergarments???)

To which I replied " I do NOT want another bra"

"We will give you the same amount of credit, but not cash back"

Needless to say I am still pretty steamed, but I guess I get a new pair of jammies

I have never had a customer service problem from LaSenza or VS, if I am not happy, I return and never had a problem

That's horrible customer service! What kind of bra falls apart after 1 wash and they won't give you your $$ back or at least exchange it? I'm a VS (or use to be, now mostly Target) girl, I've taken back bras that had the underwire sticking out after washing it and they gave me a refund. Hope you hear from the regional mgr soon!

LOL... Yes, I am! But I guess with four boys in the house that generate SO MUCH laundry, I just have to get it done and that's a feat in itself around here.

lmbo - I only have 2 girls but follow the same logic - if it cant survive my wash process it doesnt belong in my house. I wash diamonte studded velvet leotards in with scruffy old jeans without a 'delicates' wash bag. 2 colour choices only - darkish and lightish.

Seems like the shopping ordeal is partially appeased - I dont think Id trust a lingerie store that wouldnt stand up for its products in some way with a money back guarantee at least on quality. Heck even Target will take returns (and fully refund) on underwear if its faulty or poor workmanship.
I hope the new PJs are comfy and worth the trouble!
