That momnet when.......

you realized you and hubby can't lock yourselves in your bedroom in the middle of the day anymore because your older kids totally know what you are "up too"!!! :D :D :D

So this totally happened to us this past weekend!!! We thought all the kids were down in the basement playing and hubby and I were in the room cleaning and putting things away and started to get a little frisky!! ;) Next thing we know we hear a "thump" as one of the kids walks into the door (trying to turn the knob and just come in) and our almost 15 year old says...."Sheesh, you know there are little kids in the house"!!! : :D :D :D

Guess we need to settle down a little bit!!!! :p
 
Yeah, it is a bit embarrassing, isn't it?

Our boys learned to respect a closed door the hard way. They don't just walk in anymore! And my opinion is that it's good that the kids know that their parents love each other :). Although, I have to say that having a bedroom wall in common with our 13-year old son has tended to keep our volume down somewhat ;)
 
Lol. Sheesh Elizabeth! Can't you control yourselves?! Hahaha!
 
I am so not looking forward to those days. Although we had our first "walk in" last week. Our three year walked into our room in the middle. I think we scared her pretty bad. She didn't sign a thing. Her eyes got big and she just left.
 
lol I feel you! I had a kid try to walk in like that and instead they banged louder and said, "Are you having sex in there or something?" good grief
 
hahaha... my hubby says he remembers as a kid his parents saying they were talking... it took a few years before they realize that that meant. We just have someone banging and crying at the door... geez, it's like he has radar when the door closes... a total buzz kill, that is for sure! :D
 
SNORT! I remember my parents sending my sister and I to the 'pool' at the motel when we were on vacation! We knew what was going on and they knew that we knew! And we did go to the pool. :p
 
I have always struggled with this issue because I hate for my kids to "know" what is going on. Now days we just have the 15 yo DD left at home and one night a few weeks ago even though we waited until we had gone to bed and she was in bed, she knocked on our door right at the end of our encounter (whew - thank goodness it was done). But, I know that she had to know what was going on because our door was locked and we never lock it unless hubby is changing. I try not to beat myself up over it though - we have probably been caught 3 times during the years we have raised 3 kids.
 
LOL...so not looking forward to that. We have to lock our door because our littles just walk right in.
 
LOL that is to funny. I remember walking in on my parents. Never forget that sight and it has happened to me and my husband as well. Nothing quite so embarrassing. But at least it happened to us at night with the lights off when all kids should have been fast asleep and they did not SEE anything. Mine with my parents was on christmas morning and I was going in to wake them up to open presents. That was a nice christmas gift....kinda traumatizing LOL

I think that is why I am sooooo anal about this with my kids. I was traumatized by the sight of my parents. I never looked at them the same.
 
We have avoided this so far. My husband keeps crazy hours so my kids think nothing of the door closed and locked... actually, they don't realize at this point it is locked as our handle sticks sometimes. If it weren't for middle of the day, we'd never have any couple time because my husband works all night long 6-7 nights a week.
