books like the series lost?

Are there some out there that sort of have the same feel/ themes?

I will tell you that I never once thought I would be interested in anything that was somewhat fantasy based (would you consider lost fantasy? science fiction?)

Anyways.. I'm all ears :)
 
the time travel aspect of lost was intriguing to me so maybe books that have that as an element? is that stupid? LOL!
 
lol no, there's classics written about time travel...

You should read the Outlander series...it's about time travel..
 
I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooove Time Traveler's Wife. It's about a bazillion times better than the movie (and I loved the movie, too).
 
The writers/producers of Lost were big fans of The Stand by Stephen King, which is my favorite book of all time. It doesn't have the time travel aspect, but you can clearly draw parallels between characters in Lost and characters in The Stand. It's not a horror genre book, but a book about possibilities -- what if a virus took out 99.5% of the population of the Earth? What would those who survived do? I've read it once a year since I was in my teens. It's a very long book but worth the time investment.

If you like time travel, Stephen King also has a newer book -- 11/22/63 -- that talks about time travel in relation to JFKs shooting. Again, not his horror genre. I think King is amazing when he's not doing horror. I didn't read this one but my son did and he really liked it.
 
I don't think you're going to find anything lol....LOST is probably the most unique story I've ever seen/read or heard of. :)

Have you watched Fringe? It's also by the creaters of LOST and it's different but still just as good. The final season starts this fall, but I think it's streaming on Netflix too.
 
Have you read Once In Every Life by Kristin Hannah? It's a much lighter read and not science fiction but there is a time travel aspect to it.

Because Shawshank Redemption is one of the best stories & movies ever.

The Stand is one of my favorite books, ever, too, because I like the dystopian nature of it, the fight between good and evil, etc.

I, too, like King when he's not doing horror.
 
I want to see The Time Traveler's Wife because I enjoyed the book... but I didn't love it. I want to see if I like the movie better.

Ooo! Glad to hear it was good. It's what I want to read next to see if I'd recommend it for my ladies' book club. :thumbup: I love Stephen King. Not horror per se. But he's just a great writer.

This amazes me. I didn't know that King had books other than horror! This is exciting to me. I am going to download The Stand right now! I am giddy excited. What a loon I am. LOL

The Stand is probably a little creepy still... I remember trying to read the unabridged version years ago (only made it halfway through). But it's not gory like, say Carrie.

I also really liked It.
 
I am way behind the times. I don't read much but, I am just now watching Lost on Netflix. It is really, really good. I remember thinking years ago "what is the deal with all these people and their obsession with Lost?". Now I am addicted to it! LOL
