Prayers for my BIL...

If you remember a few weeks ago, I shared that my BIL is going through a lot of stuff... (years of drinking and taking pain killers, lying to his family, getting a divorce--his life is a mess).

This morning the police found him unconscious in a sewer. We can only guess that he lifted the manhole cover off himself and tried to either kill himself or escape from some hallucination (he often posts things on FB about hallucinations and not sleeping for days on end).

Anyway, he's alive and there is no bleeding in his brain. They have sewn up the back of his head and he's sedated (because he came to and started to fight the nurses). He broke a few ribs and his back is messed up from the fall. But I think he's in stable condition.

It's just amazing to think that this handsome young guy is such a mess. He was always the "hot one" who looked like he belonged in a boy band with all the friends and girlfriends. It's so sad... no matter how people look on the outside, they can have so much trouble on the inside.

Anyway, prayers are MUCH appreciated--for his deliverance from all the things that haunt him to his recovery to my dearest in-laws who are dealing with all this.

Thank you!

that breaks my heart. It's a little close to home for me so I have empathy for you and your family. I hope things get better...

Thank you all so much!

Oh my goodness! I hope he gets some help! Prayers to him and you and your family.

Meeeee, too. Last time they just let him walk away from a suicide attempt because a lack of paper work on the part of the police. I hope to God that he really gets the help he needs this time and they don't just release him... not that they can--we now have heard that he actually has broken bones in his lumbar region. We are now hearing from the police that he wasn't unconscious. They actually found him wandering down in the sewer after a nearby resident called 911. He was walking around down in the sewer, telling them that "the Utz potato chips made him do it." :(

So, the good news is that he can walk. And also that at the very least because of that he can't just be discharged tomorrow.

I'm so sorry he is going through all of this - and that you're all going through it with him. Prayers coming your way. *hugs*

Aw, Nicole... this is so sad to hear. After your last mention of him, I was hoping maybe things would get better but it seems his "rock bottom" is much much further down than you could imagine! How terrible! I hope and pray he can get some real help this time. :(

Oh my word Nicole. I'm sorry your family has to deal with this. We went through something similar with my Uncle.

Sending lots of prayers and positive thoughts. Hopefully he will get the help he needs and stick to it.
