I placed an order for an external hard drive and I have been waiting since 4/26. It now says ships within 7-14 days for this particular hard drive. But mine has been on back order since I ordered it. I emailed them and was told they would get back to me with more information and that it is on back order right now. Here is the email I just got:

DEAR JESSICA,



Please be advised that the SEAGATE 500GB FA GO-FLX 2.5" USB3 HD KIT – RED you have on backorder is expected to arrive at our warehouse early June. As soon as we receive it from the vendor/manufacturer we will promptly ship it to you. We apologize for this delay and for any inconvenience.

So now it is not going to come until June???? And yet I am pretty sure they have received payment. I would have to double check. Im thinking just cancel this order and go in person to Staples or Walmart or Office Max and buy one in person.
 
Well then, I would probably have a hard time waiting until June, but I am not the most patient person ever. If it were me, I know a trip to the store would be in my near future. :)
 
I dont mind the wait if I had been told it was on backorder when I paid for it. But there was nothing to say that then. So that is why I am annoyed about it now. I would have chosen a differet hard drive or shopped at a different store.
 
not that this is going to give them clearance not to give you your money back, but most hard drives were low in stock for a good long time because of the tsunami's in the Phillipines where they are made. The prices were went high when they weren't available, and now the prices are beginning to come down, and they are in HUGE demand. If you can, I'd just file a claim to get your money back, and try to buy it locally.

Yes. I was going to say that it might be connected to that. I waited for my hard drive for two months in winter (also a Seagate), but I knew about the situation caused by the tsunami, so I simply waited, because I wanted that particular model.
