When do you take your tree down ?

you're like stars
I don't want to take my tree down yet but I'm already getting nagged about it lol. I'm quite fond of the extra sparkle it adds to the room :p it will be dreary without it lol

I generally wait until after January 6th which is when the Christmas season ends... we still aren't finished with our celebrations yet... We still have Christmas with my family on New Years Day, and I'm hosting, so I want to at least have them up still for the gathering :)

We have two trees. The main tree in the living room comes down about February. The tree we keep in our bedroom comes down about a month later, sometimes two. We've thought about keeping it up all year round and changing out the decorations, but we haven't seen much we like for Spring and whatnot. Plus it's a lot of extra storage we don't want to deal with.

We take down the stockings and the few other decorations we put out about mid-January. The trees we enjoy a lot longer. They're too fun and pretty for just a month.

I normally take it down after New Years, but this year it was so dead I was afraid it was going to catch fire so it came down that night.

Either the night of Christmas or the day after.

My tree is out and house undecorated already. Now to spend the weekend putting life back together and packing to move (again)

DH and I are usually the type to keep the tree up wayyy after Christmas (like maybe having it down before february, lol) but this year, I'm so done with it and would have taken it down by now if DH weren't wanting it up. We will take it down on his last day of leave (the 5th of jan) as a compromise

We put ours up a little later this year. So I want to keep them up longer and for Epiphany. Plus we put our second tree in the master bedroom and I am loving it in there. Trying to figure out if I can just keep it in there all year long and change out the decorations. ;)

It depends. Some years it goes down the day after Christmas and sometimes a week or two after Christmas. It depends on how dead the tree is, and how annoyed I am by having it up. This year its still up and probably will be until the 5th.

It's tradition here in Sweden to keep the tree until St. Knut's day, January 13th. I love our Christmas tree and try to keep it that long, but with a live tree it is impossible some years. Last year our tree died a couple of days after Christmas and just had to be taken out early, so sad. This year the tree is still looking nice and healthy so hopefully it'll last a while longer.

Anytime around or just before New Years. We don't stick to a specific date. It's more "when mum gets tired of the mess and wants to spring clean the house."

Usually, I'll leave mine up till around the 2nd week of January. However this year is different, I took it down last night simply because with everything the kiddos got for christmas this year there's barely any space for anything and I couldn't stand it anymore! It looks so bare! :(

I'm another that waits until Jan 6th... I love the twinkle lights and want to keep it up as long as possible. When I was single, the tree would stay up until Easter or my mom got sick looking at it when she came to check on my apartment - I was traveling for business a lot back them... haha.

In Slovakia we decorate the tree in households shortly before Christmas Eve and it is a tradition to keep it until January 6th (Three Magi) which is the official date for end of Christmas time.

Today. We have a real tree and we put it up a lot earlier than we usually do (Thanksgiving weekend this year). It has been so cold outside that the heat has been running fairly constantly and I worry about fire. I love the pretty lights and all my ornaments but Christmas is 3 days over now and it's time to clean up. I have to rearrange my living room to put it up and I'm tired of tripping over myself so it's time :D

We usually leave ours up until New Years. It is what I did as a child so it is what I do with my children. Why break tradition? LOL

We pack ours up the weekend after New Years. We host a NYE party every year and still have the overnight guests on New Years day, then we all return to work on the 2nd, so the weekend is the first opportunity we have.

he hehehe.. I told Bf that some of you keep the tree till January 6th.. because 'that's what you're supposed to do' ...... I win. LOL

Mine's down. I usually take it down a day or two after Christmas...ours has been up since the day after Thanksgiving by then so I'm always really ready to get my house back to normal.

Usually very soon after Christmas. Last year it was down a day already. It's still up now, and I won't be taking it down tomorrow as it's my birthday and I plan on being lazy :D. Maybe Monday or Tuesday. Couldn't bear to be looking at it into the new year!

We have a real tree and the local boy scout troop picks them up sometime during the second week of January, so we wait until we get their notice about pick-up times and take it down the day before.

I like to leave mine up as long as possible! The twinkle lights brighten my day in a dark and dreary gray winter. So, I make it a point to have it down the 2nd week in March! By then the sun has returned! :)
