I was looking through the store and noticed Two Tiny Turtle's store is gone.....did she retire?

Hey chickies!

Simone has decided to step away from designing and scrapping for now. Since she had been on a hiatus for such a long time, she requested a quiet departure. Hopefully if she decides to come back to designing someday, she'll make SSD home again!

We'll miss her too!

Me tooooo!!!! I have noticed she's been on a break, but I didn't think she'd just leave without hugs first. : (

Right? I know there are a handful of designers who have been quiet, but I love her products and have so many of them!!! I never thought she'd leave :(

huh. I thought I was going crazy.

I was working on the 70 Designers challenge and I this morning I swore there were 29 designers and this evening I checked back and there's only 28 :(

It was there earlier when I made my list for today's game.
I'm sorry to see that she's not here anymore.

Aww no :( I hope she comes back when she feels like scrapping again, I'll miss her pages and templates.

I completely understand and wish her best of luck! Thank you for letting us know. She will be greatly missed, but sometimes, life over scrapping (in this case designing) wins. Hope to see her soon around digiland

I had noticed that and mentioned it in the 70 designers thread. I'm so very sad because I love her templates so much. But it is her choice and hopefully she will come back one day.

Thank you for solving the mystery, Robin! We will miss her, but hopefully she will come back!

I am seriously sad to see her retire. She's always been on of my favorite template designers. I wish her the best luck in her new endeavors.

She'll be missed at SSD! I understand when designers want to slip out quietly, but for the sake of challenges it helps to have a heads up so we aren't unknowingly using a retired designers kits or templates to fulfill challenge requirements.

I think when it comes to templates we can still use them no matter what since we are supposed to use what is in the store for MOST of our layout. So templates don't count. Or at least that's what I tell myself because a template is only a small portion of a layout when you think about all the other elements and papers added from a kit. Makes sense?

I was more making a general statement about retirements without any announcement, which tends to happen when designers switch stores, too. I agree that a page with a TTT template should still count for the Passport.

Sometimes when people retire, the store doesn't actually get any notice either, but I agree that giving notice is always the nicest thing to do when possible. We're all going to miss Simone.

ah ok I understand :)
yes I would have loved a retirement sale from her. I could have seen myself buy a bunch!

Buying her templates probably would have busted my budget, so I guess I should be glad that there wasn't a retirement sale. LOL!! :p

There would have gone all my leftover Christmas money that Im trying to make last this entire month for SSD's birthday celebration!!

So...a possible new twist on this. In the Feb passport FAQ, we just realized that we'd all assumed the Bingo "mostly SSD" rules stil applied. The Passport instructions just say "Using SSD products..." We're waiting for an official ruling from Robin.

Ooooh.... good catch!

I'm not admin, of course, but according to the FAQ's for the gallery it states:
Regarding our new gallery, we are very excited to now have an uploadable member gallery and can't wait for you to share your pages with us. We'd really like for our gallery to be a place for the Sweet Shoppe community to come together and get involved in our challenges, share their pages with us and most importantly, we want our gallery to be a constant source of inspiration on how to use Sweet Shoppe Products.

Keeping that ideal in mind, we'd like to ask that you only post layouts on which you've used some Sweet Shoppe products. At this time, we do not have any specifics on the amount of SSD stuff we require on a page but we do hope you won't take advantage of our loose guidelines to post your layouts where a button is the only Sweet Shoppe product on the page. We sincerely hope that you can understand and respect our wishes for our gallery to be a product showcase of our designer's amazing work!

I also didn't post this to cause frustration about Simone's exit. I'm so sorry to make some people get worried or even upset about what they were posting in the gallery, for the challenges or not being able to buy through a retirement sale. It was not my intention.

True for the gallery, but not necessarily for the challenges. It's very common for challenges with a reward attached to have stricter requirements than the gallery. There was a time a few years ago when SSD challenges required 100% SSD products.

((Hugs!)) Speaking only for myself, I'm not feeling any anger or frustration. Sad that Simone left, yes. This is where we lose out on so much interacting with only text, absent tone of voice or facial expressions. I'm the one who first brought up wishing we'd get a heads up when someone leaves, but it was more as a gentle reminder that there are good reasons to mention it when someone leaves. I'd rather speak up now than have people angry later because their pages don't count. But at the end of the day I love SSD and this community, and it takes a lot to get to me, especially when we're talking about a site and hobby that are supposed to be fun!

I didn't think you were. I just didn't want it to get there or someone brewing in silence. It's always hard when someone leaves, especially unannounced to the community members. I'm sure there were extenuating circumstances, ones we will never know or understand, this side of the site.

While it stinks, I am just glad we noticed before posting layouts unbeknownst to us that she was no longer in the store, making our layout not count for a challenge. (if we used a kit, not just a template)

Exactly! And I hope one day she decides to design again and comes back to SSD.

Rather than start a new thread since this is a collab with TTT,

Saw this kit (Addicted to digiscrap: kit by River Rose, Studio Basic & Two Tiny Turtles) on a blogpost a week or so ago but the link doesn’t work and I can’t find it in the shop, does it mean it’s gone for good?
