Tell me: what you miss about...

I remember Cheryl from Two Peas in a Bucket! I was a little more star struck in the early days and had lots to learn as a designer.

OK, now I need to know your design story. I don't remember meeting you there. My brain is not what it once was. I'm guessing you were in those Friday night chats?

I loved the challenges at Two Peas. I liked how the digi area of the forum seemed to stay out of the drama that was rampant at the time. I just happily scrapped and posted. I remember when I was IN LOVE with Rhonna Farrer's designs, and I was STAR STRUCK being in chat with her and she would often respond directly to me. I do wish that I had taken more screen shots back in the day of my forum activity.

This has me wishing that SSD had done a time capsule at the very beginning to open 20 years later.. which is not that far away.

This is about as close to a time capsule unless Robin has something.

It looks like January 17, 2006 is the earliest record. When you get to what is saved from February 3, 2006 you can explore different pages more. As you explore it may jump to different dates. There are many snapshots throughout the years.

I love this, I always forget to bookmark this site, it's so fun to go back and look at the old days!

you guys. I had no idea that existed and now I'm going down a rabbit hole of when I used to make blinkies for the designers here at SSD!

I miss the excitement. New product releases, scrapping-get-togethers, conventions, & whole stores for our hobby. I don't miss the mess and have whittled down my paper scrapping supplies through the years. I still have albums to finish.

I haven't been scrapping either paper or digital for 5 or 6 years and the hobby is calling to me. 2025 is the year I return to scrapping.

Wahooo! Welcome back!

welcome back! :) have fun!

I miss the larger galleries and several of the store that have closed over the years. Other than SSD and TLP I don’t even know what stores are out there anymore- wouldn’t even know how to go about getting info and updates on things like this?

When 9th & Bloom opened I really felt a part of something. It’s hard to explain, but I had been friends with the designers for years at that point and the forum just felt like home.when it closed I felt a little lost in the scrap world.

It’s always the challenges that bring me back to scrapping again and again.

I'm really late to this conversation, but I miss so much about the early days of digital scrapbooking!
I miss Zoe & La & Jenn Barrette so, so much.
DDE and Shabby Princess were the designers that got me hooked on digital, and they both just disappeared without a trace from the digital scrapbook community.
I miss the way designers led trends and came out with products we'd never seen before. There was so much innovation in the beginning. I have lots of pages that could have used LESS innovation, but it doesn't feel like there's anything new and different anymore.
When I first started scrapping, I spent my day chatting with my online scrappy friends on Hello, and I miss that type of connection.

However, I don't miss how obsessed I was with scrapping in the beginning, how I neglected important things like dinner and my kids because of my obsession, or how ridiculous my pages looked because I did ALL THE THINGS on them and hadn't found my style yet.

I miss how bustling my fave scrap forums used to be! As far as scrapping styles, I don't really miss anything because I still do those old-style layouts if I feel like it. Part of it is just my life and how busy it has become, because I haven't been active in my favorite places, and it just makes me sad. I also miss my kids being little and not hating photos!

I discovered digiscrapping in 2010. I was part of a forum called Clickin Moms, and someone mentioned it. The first site I discovered was CatScrap, and I was a member there until it closed. Man there have been so many sites I've been a part of over the years, but I'd say I have had 2 main homes for many, many years - one of which is Sweet Shoppe. I just love it here, the vibe, the designers, the community!!

I miss when my son and other kids in my life were younger and cuter and happy to be photographed! And events were so fun! I still have plenty to scrap, but I miss those littles!

I feel this way about our grandkids! I've been struggling to scrap "non-grandkid" photos!

I miss so much! The friends I made, the teams I was a part of and all the cool things I learned.

I miss all the forums and galleries that used to be around.

Cheryl - 2 peas, that brings back memories!

Kristin - I agree, the forums were much busier before social media took over.

From my paper scrapping days, I miss the in-person crops. Before FB, IG, etc, wkend digi crops were fun. We would stay in the forum for hours at a time, chatting as we scrapped, without all the other social media distractions.

I am late to this post but I miss being on creative teams and I miss the the two sites that specifically held things for my side of the world in New Zealand.

I miss DST. I loved hearing about all of the stores from one central location.

I miss early Facebook as a scrapper... with flair and all sorts of customizations.

I also miss so many designers who have retired, and passed away.

I miss my days as a designer.

I miss my kids being little and having more to scrap about.

Most of all, I miss having the TIME and MOTIVATION to scrap. I pay for Photoshop monthly but touch it a few times a year. :o Now when I use it, it is to do something for work. For my first decade of digiscrapping, I was a SAHM and had a lot more time. I used to scrap a page a day. I was on several creative teams. I did some designing myself. I spent hours keeping up with who was who in the digital world. I created things for tons of other people.

I miss knowing every poster on a scrapbooking site and posting on every layout in the gallery and hosting or attending chats and scrap a thons. I miss being motivated by challenges and being proud to show off my layouts. The last layout I did was the last day of 2023. The last layout I posted here was in 2021.
