how do you wash this shirt:

With lights or with darks? I'm guessing with lights, but I don't want the navy to cause problems with the other clothes.
I suck at laundry....I already ruined a burgundy shirt with offwhite sleeves.....they are a nice hue of pink now LOL!
TIA!

I tend to have a white-whites load and then a load with things like this that have white in them, but also have colors.

Wash it alone, if it is new, in COLD water. The cold will not run the colours, hot will. Wash it alone a couple of times, then I'd put it in with the darks. The key is the cold water.

ETA Benjamin had a red/white shirt similar to that, that's what I done, and had no issues with dyes running.

Just sling it all in there together is my theory :p Unless you have a brand new red shirt and hubby's underwear. Men don't like their boxers turned pink heeeheeeheeheeehehe

I am of no help. I suck at laundry too. Just had to comment with my method. When in doubt, wash it by itself first. Then after that sling it in there with everything else LOL

I've only had a problem ever with red - blue never seems to bleed. I've even washed brand new black jeans with whites without problems...

MOST of the time, shirts like that, the fibers have been pre-washed so they won't bleed.

But if you're in doubt, wash in cold water, that's what my mom always told me. LOL!

alone with cold water, is your safest bet.

or you could buy some shout color catchers and then it wouldn't matter. i have them and they work well. =)

Ohhh I love those color catchers too! I use them in every load now because I switched to Tide ColdwaterFresh and I wash EVERYTHING-and I do mean EVERYTHING together. About once a month I throw a load of undies and socks in and bleach them to get the dingys out.
I loveeee Tide Coldwater and the Shout Colorcatcher, they save me a lot of sorting!

You can always soak it in a vinegar/water mixture and the vinegar helps set the color, too, just in case. But I doubt that this shirt is going to bleed at all.

Thats what I would do too....I have ruined many shirts just like that one before, usually red/white ones, so I started washing them alone in cold water. Seems like I had better results that way.
I have been tempted to try the Shout Color Catchers, to see how they work...esp. since I suck at laundry too! lol

Cold water, dark clothes, and Color Catchers! DH does the laundry in our home, he swears by those things. They do a dang good job too! He tossed some whites into the washer one day not realizing that Devin had tossed a brand new red t-shirt into the machine the night before. Not a drop of pink in any of the whites!!
