Something that made you happy today (or this past week)

Marie I just planted some roses about two months ago and they all died. It has been so dry. But my plumeria has leaaves back on it and I am crossing my fingers it blooms this year!! I do so love plumeria. I do not even know what color it blooms. I think I got one with pink/orange but am not sure. I am tempted to go to the guy who sells them and buy one of his that is already blooming because I waited all year last year and it had not blooms then in the winter it lost every leaf. I called him and he said thats normal. So I am just waiting and seeing.

Jessica - I've never seem plumeria in the nurseries up here - probably not a perennial up here. I do love the smell of plumeria though!

I think they only grow in tropical zones. We are zone 9 or 10 depending where you look. I think we are kinda on the border. I just dont know what I did wrong with my roses. And it said on the care paper they need full sun but the only one which is still green is in shade for a good part of the day.

I am going to get a trellis and plant some jasmine I think. Our neighbor has jasmine growing all the way across her fence. It is now almost like a bush and it smells so heavenly.

My mil took both the middle and youngest dd yesterday morning until tomorrow morning, plus the edest is at a friends and DH and I have the entire house to ourselves ALL WEEKEND! I am in heaven!

Ok, this thread made me smile - love it!

My happy moment is courtesy of my 5yr old. She's recently taking to calling me mama in a frenchish accent. No idea why lol but it is the cutest thing I've ever heard

My happiest moment this week came last night when I finally discovered we *ARE* eligible to adopt from Haiti! I'm so beside-myself-excited I could just burst.

Oh Joana!!!!!!!! :wub::wub::wub::wub::wub::wub:

My happy moment this week was THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!! :w00t::w00t: I go back tomorrow for one last teacher day, but those are usually really fun and laid back. I'm so ready for summer!

Well, I just got home from three fabulous days at the lake with my family. <3 On Friday night, I drove up there without my husband because we thought he was going to have to farm all weekend long. Well, on Saturday night, it rained 2 and a half inches at the farm, shutting down all the harvest operations for a couple of days. He joined us at the lake yesterday afternoon and we were blessed with the much needed moisture. We have both been working lots of hours the last month and it was great to relax together for a few hours.

My hubby came home from being away for work for 3 1/2 weeks. The girls tried to stay up long enough (he got home at 9:30) but only 1 of them made it.

I think we should do one of these threads every week. Just seeing what you all posted makes me smile and today has in general been a sucky kinda day so I needed that.

I second that motion. :)

Edited to add- especially on Mondays. This week wasn't bad because of the holiday, but I'm usually a total nutcase on Mondays. lol.

Anytime you get a craving for the maple syrup candies, let me know and I'll send you a bunch ;) We have them here all year round since they're made here. I personally don't care for them, but it's probably because I've had them so many times as a kid that I got sick of them! lol. Pure Vermont maple syrup on my pancakes though, yum! It's just soo expensive!

My something happy today.... I was doing a little weeding and watering in my veggie garden when I discovered that a couple of my strawberries are turning red... this evening when I went to do a little watering again, I discovered tons more red ones!!! I'm so excited!! I have everbearing strawberries, so I have some that have just started flowering, and now I have some that'll be ready to harvest by the end of this week!! It's going to be a good strawberry year for us :)

My kids went swimming with their cousin today and we had dinner with my family and I got to cuddle my nephew. <3

Probably a lot cheaper then what I paid for mine Rachael ;) (6 dollars for like 8 little candies). Yes I love them that much!! It isnt something I crave all the time but every now and then I get a craving for it and no stores carry them. So I was suprprised to find them there.

What a great thread to open up and read through! I am happy I had 4 days off from work and time to scrap, be with my family and friends. Seems like a long while since I got that opportunity. :)
