So relieved...we finally have a diagnosis

We got all the tests back on my husband and apparently it is his gall bladder. They are planning on removing it tomorrow and he will be released on Wednesday. It is a little scary but you know not as scary as the car accident was. The other issue which they are not going to operate on is his diaphragm and stomach. Apparently there is evidence that when he had the accident it caused damage to both. So that is something we did not know before. I am hoping that having his gall bladder removed will stop the vomiting/nausea. They are also changing his medication for acid reflux so hopefuly he will be home and feeling better in a couple days.
 
If it is his gall bladder causing a lot of that - he'll have so much relief when he gets home. He'll be super sore for a few days, so baby him well. Let him rest as much as he needs because it's what his body needs to get through that recovery! I hope it's easy on him!
 
What a relief to have a diagnosis at last. Nothing worse than being sick and in pain, and not being able to do anything about it. Any word on when the surgery will be?
 
Sometime tomorrow Jacinda. He wont be getting anything to eat/drink after midnight so hopefully not to late. He will know for sure tomorrow what time.
 
Glad to hear you have some answers. Prayers coming your way and hope he gets some relief after the surgery!
 
It's always a relief to have a diagnosis and a treatment plan. Hopefully they are the first step towards your husband feeling well again. :)

I'm glad you're finally getting some answers and that it sounds like the surgery could make a big difference for your DH. I'll be thinking of your family tomorrow!
 
so glad to hear you have a diagnosis Jessica....my mom had to have emergency gallbladder surgery a few years ago and it sure did make a difference with her feeling better afterwards....praying everything goes smoothly...
 
I'm glad they figured it out! Like I said in the thread the other day, I felt horrible with the same symptoms when my gallbladder needed to come out. After my recovery, I immediately felt so much better. I wish your husband a quick recovery!

Oh what a relief to know! Is he having a laparoscopy or doing surgery for his gall bladder? He'll have to take it easy with the fatty food :)
 
yes I know my best friend had it done so I asked her a bunch of questions about it last night about how she felt and recovery and everything else. She had it basically done in one day and released so I was reassured about that. My mom had it done the older way where they make a larger incision many years ago and I remember her recovery period being much longer. I am about ready to leave now as soon as my daughter gets here.

Thank you to everyone for the positive thoughts. I am much more relieved now that we know for sure what is causing a lot of the issues and just hoping his recovery period will not be to bad.

Hope the surgery went well. I had my gall bladder out a few months after my oldest was born, and the relief was immediate. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.
