Resizing font previews in Photoshop

When discussing in Kim's font manager preview thread I said what I found out about resizing font previews in PS and according to some replies other people didn't know this as well, so I thought I'd share.

So, I only realised last week that you can resize of the font previews in PS. Apparently, I've been squinting for years for no reason whatsoever.

This is where you do it in PS: Edit > Preferences > Type > Font Preview Size. I set it to huge and I'm very much relieved. That was one thing that was bugging me about my workflow (that and the fact that until March I didn't know you could open files in PS directly from ACDSee).

For PSE users - Julie said in Kim's thread that this can also be done in PSE.

Just thought I'd share in case someone might find it useful.

Sometimes it's the most simple things in our editing software that we skip over and not find out about until a long time later... and when we do, it's almost life changing! LOL!!

I remember the day I learned that I could open an entire kit into ONE document, directly from Bridge, into my photoshop CS4. I was in heaven!!!

Glad you discovered how to increase text preview size, Adrianka! Now your eyes can rest.... hehe

In CS6 you just go to the top... TYPE>FONT PREVIEW SIZE ... just an fyi for those who may be on CS6 Beta right now...

I didn't know about this till this week either, lol! I believe I've spent all these years peering at those small previews!

For me it's actually a huge relief that I wasn't the only one who didn't know this. I felt very headdesky after I found out. :-)

I knew you could, but have been too lazy to bother... so, thanks for the tip! I know I will be thrilled next time I go to scrap and see the larger previews!

I just changed mine to extra large.....enormous was a little overdone, LOL!

Huge works fine for me, but it's because I have an untypical screen - 1920x1280 at 17''. It's gorgeous for PS workspace (and that's why I got the laptop I got), but everything else is VERY tiny , so the original preview was barely visible and huge feels like normal. However, I can imagine that on a different screen huge must be, well, too huge. :-)))
