Okay, who wants to do a bracket pool?

Okay, who wants to do a March Madness NCAA basketball bracket pool?

Selection Sunday is coming up!! Just trying to get an idea for who would want to be in a bracket pool. If anyone would like to donate to the cause, please PM me.

ETA: This is for the NCAA tourney... I will provide brackets once the selection pool is announced. :)

Winner will receive $25 in SSD money, or a comparable gc to another scrap store of their choice, should a Sugar Babe win. :) Still taking donations to the cause!!!

So.. if you'd like to play, please post here, so I can see if there is enough interest. :)

i am in!!! i always was in my office pool every year but since i no longer work i am missing out in it. i can pitch in $5. :-)

Each person will fill out a bracket (we'll have to figure out how to work it out for online, I'm guessing we can have Robin lock the thread so no one can alter their stuff later on). The bracket takes 64 teams down to 32, down to 16, down to 8, down to the Final Four, down to the championship game.

So each person picks winners and losers for each game (which comes out to.......55 games). Some pools have points. The first round (of 64 teams) could be 1 point (so for every team you pick that moves on, you get 1 point), the next round (32 teams) could be 2 points, etc etc. The goal is to pick the final 4 (people RARELY pick all 4) or the actual National Champion.

I'm going to browse online and see if I can find a bracket to show you. It sounds a lot more complicated than it ends up. And in the end you could just go by team colors (not even kidding, my fiancee's mom and sister do it that way and they actually do pretty good sometimes! LOL).
 
Here is a link to last year's bracket.

You pick which team you think will win, for every single game. So for instance, looking at the top left, there's Florida vs Jackson State. You would pick which team you think will win that game. Then that winner goes up against the winner you pick from the Arizona vs Purdue game. And on and on like that. Does that make sense?
 
I would! The gift card would be RAKed if I win, though. ;) HAHAHAHA

nope, my plan was just to assign points like Col was saying, and keep track in a excel file on my computer. I'll post points after each round so ppl know where they are in the lineup. I'll post a blank bracket after Selection sunday and people can either save the blank bracket, fill it in and post it back as a jpg, or just post their choices for each round, and I'll put them in my excel file.. much like Teresa is doing for Idol. :)

Round 1 games worth 1 pt each, Round 2 games worth 2 pts each, Sweet 16 worth 3 pts each, Elite Eight worth 4 pts each, Final Four worth 5 pts each and the championship game worth 10 pts
 
Cool beans Sara. Let me know if you want help with it. I was thinking that after sunday we could have a thread and have each section of the bracket typed out. So ppl would just copy and paste it into their reply, fill out the teams they pick, and post it. Then Robin could lock the thread and we could tally up the points as we go.

Yea last night was an early night for me. I couldn't take listening to Jordan yell at the tv/video game any longer, lol.

LOL!! Shannon was the only one still on when I went to bed, and I just went over and shut off the stupid Xbox. I do not think Jeff was amused, but darnit, I was tired. LOL
 
Yea he wasn't playing well, so that meant the game was cheating him. *eye roll* Where do they come up with this stuff?? LOL! Thankfully, the PS3 is in the living room with is far enough away from the bedroom that with the door closed and the tv on low I can almost drown out his shouting, lol. I just snuggled up with Tigah-now and went to sleep.
 
OK, I get how you pick teams. We do it differently, but I've done the point system before. Ooooo, can't wait to get this started! This will be fun! :)
