I just signed Luke up for this and he's so excited!!

Apple Camp
At Apple Camp, kids ages 8-12 learn how to shoot their own footage, create an original song in GarageBand on an iPad, and put it all together in iMovie on a Mac. This free workshop, held at Apple Retail Stores, spans three days and ends with campers debuting their masterpieces at the Apple Camp Film Festival. Space is limited and workshops fill up quickly, so sign up now for a super-creative adventure.*
 
Oh man, how FUN! Of course, our kids are either too young or too old, but I hope they'll do something like that in a few years when Chloe is old enough.
 
He will have a blast Kristin! Cheyanne loves creating songs with Garage Band - keeps her entertained for hours! She's been learning iMovie this year too and loves it.

At least I think my BIL signed my nephew up for Apple Camp. I'll have to check with him again.

Oh my goodness! My Ian would absolutely LOVE this! He is constantly making "movies" on our iPod Touch. He's still too young for this workshop, but I'm definitely going to keep my eyes open for this in a few years. :)

aww... kiddo still a bit young for this, however I hope by the time he is old enough, they will have an apple store closer than then the 2 hour drive now... :) That would also make the big kid (DH) in the house happy, too.... haha
 
Yup, they all live up there -- parents, grandmother, aunt, sister, BIL, nephew. When I looked at the Apple site, it only lists the Indy location & the Mish location, so it's gotta be that one. :)

ETA: It would have been fun for him, but we're not doing it after all. I didn't see it mentioned on the site, but the email confirmation they sent says that parents must remain in the store the entire time. I'm sure they'd just love to have my 2 younger kids running around and playing on the ipads for hours on end...

Awww... i wish they offered an evening class! I'd totally send my oldest - I think it would be fun, new and really cool. Thanks for sharing!

Too bad our Saturdays are booked with football -- I know my 8 year old would LOVE this!

My nephew is abt the same age (just turned 9) as your son & my sister is an elementary school teacher, so you'll prolly get along just fine. :D
 
OMG I wish I'd known about this earlier. My dd would have loved it, but all the spots are full. Bummer :/
