New Zealand questions

My brother and his family will be leaving the US for New Zealand in June. My brother will be teaching at Victoria University. They most likely will have a company find their housing for them. Any suggestions? They have four kiddos, so schools are important. (although we've heard all New Zealand schools are quality ) Also any ideas for a going away present that would be special for them when they arrive... gift certificates to local place or other ideas?

I live in New Zealand so may be able to help you a bit though I'm not in Wellington where Victoria University is primarily.

I'm not sure there is anything special here as far as gift certificates to local places but if they are based in Wellington I would definitely recommend going to Te Papa (national museum) & doing a tour of parliament.
