My dog acts like it's raining fire when it's drizzling

Do your dogs do this? I have to repeatedly tell her, "GO!" and point to the yard, and then she'll just circle the deck and come right back to the door and look at me like she's in a torture chamber or something. I have to stand there shoo her off the deck over and over till she finally goes pee-pee. If she would just hurry up and go she wouldn't have to be out there so long!

LOL - what kind of dog? We've pretty much had dogs that love water (Newfie's, Huskies) so it's never been an issue but I know my parents have a shepherd and that dog hates water in any form! :D

My dog hates the rain...he's a retriever/chow mix and acts like a huge baby even if it's drizzling. I think it has to do with the scumbag who abandoned him as a puppy on my street in the middle of the night...in a thunderstorm. Heard him crying from about midnight on, then found him on the side of the road around 730 in the morning...he was only about 4 weeks old. So for him I think it's a trauma thing.
Now, once the rain is over, he LOVES running through the puddles.

And then there's snow...he LOVES it. Runs through it with his mouth open trying to eat it, rolls in it, etc.

Mine will only pee in the rain if he is IN MISERY needing to go. Most times he won't even go outside the door even with drizzle much less full blown rain.

She's a pug mix. She'll pee in the house if I don't make her go out, so... yeah, she doesn't have a choice but to get out there and get rained on!

Aww! That's so sad, but awesome that you took him in. I honestly don't know how people can sleep at night when they do stuff like that.

We have a schnoodle that HATES the rain. She will hold it forever rather than go outside. Fortunately we live in Arizona. :)

My pit doesn't like to go out in the rain. I end up having to get soaked and stand in the middle of the yard with her just so that she'll go. It's so annoying. She'll stand there and shiver and look at me with her sad eyes. LOL!

2 of my mini dachshunds despise the rain, even a drizzle, the other could care less. But I have read that that is common for mini dachshunds. I usually have to go out with an umbrella and follow them around and then stand over them while they do their business if I can even get them physically pushed out the door.

And doesn't it make you feel like an idiot? She does this with me when it's super cold too, so I have to bundle up and stand in the freezing cold just to make sure she stays in the yard and goes.
