Ain't she a beauty? I finally got my raise at work and treated myself! :thumbup: I won't have to get up and leave for a few minutes while PSE starts up or saves a file. I won't have to wait for my files to open from my EHD. I can just chug along! :)

I have to learn Vista though. Is it easy? User friendly? Does it work fine with PSE5?
 
Ugh! I'm totally jealous! I'm dying for a new laptop. But I decided that the DSLR is more important right now, and the laptop must wait. (I should have the DSLR by April!!! WHOOHOOO!!)

I can't wait to hear how much you love it! The color is awesome too! Congrats!!
 
Congrats!!! That is one pretty baby!!!

PSE5 has worked fine for me with Vista. I had to upgrade from PSE3 though... which was actually a good thing. You'll probably have a love/hate relationship with Vista. I haven't had any problems with it on my laptop (Toshiba) but DH has had TONS of problems with it on his desktop (Dell).
 
I LOVE the color and pattern, I knew that was it once I saw it!

I just remember seeing a thread or two at DST talking about compatibility issues between PSE5 and Vista. I HOPE it's nothing, just a learning curve. I still have to get a bamboo tablet - decisions, decisions - after getting some input about bamboo vs bamboo fun, I'm still on the fence.
 
That is super pretty!! I just got a new laptop about 3 months ago and Vista was completely annoying at first b/c it is constantly asking you things BUT I got used to it. :-)

Congrats!! I got a new laptop back in October, so I know the joy.

As for Vista, I have some issues with it. I don't like the way it handles e-mail (they want you to use their new e-mail program as opposed to Outlook) and it wasn't particularly compatible with PSE4 (I can't wait to upgrade to PSE6). I can still use it, but I keep getting a message of incompatibility when I open up the program. I was told there was nothing to do except downgrade from Vista or wait until the patches come out and hope they help.

I used to use PSE4 with Vista Home Premium and it was fine. I always opened PSE through ACDSee so I didn't get the incompatibility msgs.

I actually like Vista, just b/c it's so slick looking.

For email I use Thunderbird.
 
oh lucky you! Vista is a change for sure, but it doesn't take long to adjust to and it runs fine with my Adobe stuff.
 
I am soooooooo jealous. What a great color and I love the pattern too!!! You are lucky girl!!! I hated Vista at first too but you do get used to it and it has some really great features. Have fun!!!

Are you gonna give this baby a name?????
 
Yes, it's purple, like a red-violet purple. I'm almost always getting kits that have purple, that color just calls out to me! :)

Hmmmm, haven't thought of a name yet - maybe I'll ask DH to make one, LOL!
 
Comgrats on your pending new arrival!!!! LOL I'm not sure I could scrap on a laptop but if I had one, I'd sure give it one heck of a shot!!!! LOL

That laptop is gorgeous! :)

Your title had me there for a sec. First I thought "oh, how nice...she's letting us know on her way to the hospital"...then I thought "wait, she's pregnant?" (while the thread was opening, lol). Oiy.
 
LOL Bree! Yeah, no more babies for me - 3's plenty of work! Don't think I can handle anymore than that!

OMG, I love this thing!!! I'm typing from it right now! I seriously need that tablet or remote mouse though, I can't get the hang of this touch mouse. :)
