The computer kind, not the rodent variety. 
I currently have a Logitech G5. I LOVE it. I've had it for several years and it completely rocks. I don't use any special features or functions on it and keep it set at medium speed. I do like that I was able to add weights to make it more comfortable for me. I have it weighted down pretty good and love the control I get when doing intricate projects (like extracting).
Sadly, I think my mouse is dying a slow and painful death. In the past 24 hours it has stopped working on me 5 times. If I unplug the USB and plug it back in it will sometimes work, it worked once when I restarted the computer too but stopped cold again within 10 minutes.
It looks like I'm going to have to replace my mouse. I would REALLY like to get the exact same one again but the $165 price tag is kind of making me cringe. When I got it before I was actively designing and using the computer for other 'jobs' as well and it made sense to invest in something that would work well and last... and it did for quite a while. Now though, I just don't know if I can justify it. I've done some searching looking for something considered similar in a little lower price range but I'm not finding anything.
So, what's your favorite mouse? Is there a brand or model you would recommend for scrapping, extracting, and other work where you need lots of good mouse control? This generic Dell mouse I had to switch to this afternoon isn't cutting it.
I'm a PC and I use a desktop (not sure if either tidbit of info matters). I don't really want to go wireless because things get lost in my house far too often and I'm afraid the kids would take off with it and that would be that... not to mention I hate the thought of replacing batteries in yet another electronic component. Given that, anyone have suggestions for me?

The gaming ones seem to have more of what we need as scrappers. I hope the replacement is as good as the one I have now because I will cry if its not (okay, not really but still)
