Mac TimeMachine

Anyone on here use the Time Machine with Mac? My hard drive on my computer is dying and I need a way to get thing all backed up fairly quickly. Can I buy any mac compatible external hard drive to do this? Any suggestions?
 
I recently started using the Time Machine when my last MAC was dying a slow death, much like your situation. I bought an EHD off Amazon and it worked perfectly to transfer everything to my new MAC. You can pretty much use any EHD that's wiped clean. Good luck!
 
Thanks for the reply! Another question for you. Did your programs and everything transfer when you got your new mac? I hate to have to repurchase photoshop etc?

Everything transfers just the way it was at your last TimeMachine sync, including all of your programs and files in your finder! It's pretty nifty!
