I voted "somewhere in between" ... I would say about 50% of my pages use templates, but I go in phases where I rarely use them and others when I use them a lot.

I pretty much always use them. When I don't, it's usually because I started with a template and the layout just wasn't coming together so I started over without one.

That happens to me too! Other times I stick with the template, but my page evolves into something that looks so different than the template I'm not sure anyone would recognize the template :D

I sometimes I use them for Babe pages, and if I have pages I need to scrap for my albums that have more than 3 or 4 photos.... but otherwise no. I almost always never have anything in mind when I start a page (other than the photo(s) I'm going to scrap), so I've always preferred starting with a blank page and seeing what happens!

I always use them now. Sometimes I adjust them to meet my needs, but I feel like I can't come up anything unique anymore.

I picked "somewhere in between," but it isnt my mood but my scrapping style. Usually if I use a template, it's for a more traditional-looking page. I rarely use a template for an AJ page. But if you add up all the pages I make and then average it out, I'm about 50-50 with template use.

I love templates. They suit my scrapping style, which is multi-photo and photo-centric. Sometimes, I'll go rogue for challenges or scraplifts, but unless I'm super-inspired, I use templates. I'm never as happy with pages I make from scratch and they take me HOURS.

Honestly, I struggle with templates. I use them when I have to for designer promotions or challenges ;-)

I always use one of Cindy's templates for event/milestone pages as I'm over my head composition-wise once I am using more than 2 photos.

For moment pages, I will often use a template but not always. I watch a lot of paper scrappers on YT so sometimes I will emulate their style or lift one of their pages instead of using a template.

Layout design is the part of scrapping I'm least skilled in so I don't mind using templates when I need/want to.

I always use a template. I'm not that creative otherwise...

But of course I say that and I made a layout from scratch last week and I was pretty pleased with it. haha But they usually suck.

I am almost always using a template OR I scraplift someone or something. I used to design so I have a bunch that I created from old layouts back when I was more caught up and had time to be creative...now I feel like I have to play catch up. :) I occasionally will get creative and go from scratch again here and there. I love templates though and the fact they give you a starting point and you can change it up rotate it or move it around if you want.

I love them! Templates allow me to focus on the part of scrapping that is fun for me: telling my story.

I am somewhere in between - if I can't find my mojo for a kit I use a template. SSD has the best templates in the business!

I only use them, unless I am scraplifting someone. My layouts go together so much better when I have direction from a template!

I pretty much always start with a template! If I change my mind partway through, I just change things about the template, but I very, very, very rarely go without one!

It's very rare for me to not use a template but I do scrap without a template from time to time.

I almost always use a template. Occasionally I have something in mind on my own when I start and don't use one, but rarely. I often dump the element placement and make that up on my own though. Today I loved the paper placement, but did not like how small it all was, so I made everything much larger and deleted all the elements.

I will change things up with a template like adding another photo spot or not putting elements where they have them. But using templates is how I learned to cluster. I found a specific template designer in 2008 and I still use her templates 90% of the time. Her style and my style are a lot alike, especially her older templates!
