Homemade Dog Food

My pup, Loki, is fourteen now, almost 15 and his appetite has decrease with his age. He is not interested in dog food at all, wet or dry, so I have started cooking for him.

I like to use the crockpot and fresh ingredients, but I only have two recipes that he likes. The amount on pinterest are overwhelming, so I wanted to ask here if anyone makes their own dogfood and would like to share the recipes they use. Here are mine on pinterest:

I would really like to have one that uses pork as Loki loves pork. The crockpot part is important to me too, as I want it to be as simple as possible.

I personally don't make my dog food although I have thought about it, even if just for a treat. I have a Lab, she loves food and would inhale it (also meaning it would be thrown up because she ate too fast), plus I think she would cost me a fortune, lol.

I've only made food for our dogs when one was having allergy issues so she had to have completely bland white rice and plain chicken. I sometimes added some pumpkin just for some flavor. We also ended up doing a similar recipe toward the end of her life when she wasn't eating. Thankfully, we've been really lucky/happy with the purina pro plan sensitive skin and stomach for both our English bulldogs (only have one now) and the frenchie is still working on his last bag of Purina pro plan puppy shredded chicken formula.

I don't make special food for my dog. Didn't for the 2 previous dogs either.

But for all 3 of the Havanese I have had when I make scrambled eggs, I give them some mixed with their regular food. In fact, the last meal I gave to Pepper and Paige before they were put down was scrambled eggs.

Peyton will also get a sliced hard boiled egg when I have them. She goes crazy for them!

I have wondered about this, too. My Goldendoodle eats Purina Pro and we occasionally switch out the main meat so she has some variety. When she has a tummy ache and I have given her a bland food diet of rice, chicken, and chicken broth, she thinks it's the greatest thing on Earth.
