Hello friends!
I wanted to take a moment to say "hello" and "thank you" for the warm hug of your welcome to me here at Sweet Shoppe. The kindness and creativity and inspiration that lives here makes my heart so happy!
For those who may be meeting me for the first time...
My name is Sara. I was born and raised just a few miles north of Chicago, and that beautiful city by the lake has always been home to my heart in many ways, even though it’s now been years since I’ve lived there. As a military family we lived in many places in the US and since my husband’s retirement from active duty, we have been calling Ohio home.
We have two children (18 and 10) and three cats. Our oldest is at university (but still pretty close to home so I'm blessed to see them regularly) and I homeschool our youngest, which is where my lens is focused most of the time when I'm not delving in to my creative work. I also love to soak up time with my family, watch the Chicago Cubs when they are playing, learn about natural health and gardening, and spend time outside whenever I can.
I was a scrapbooker before my design journey began 15 years ago. Over the years I have been growing my skills in design and illustration and settling in to my design style but the heart of everything I create has always been The Story. It’s how I would scrapbook and it’s how I design. I love to include lots of thoughtful word-art bit and design details that connect together with a heart for storytelling. I love words and language and capturing the authentic details of relationships and my every day.
I am SO happy to be home here where I can embrace all of my favorite things with all of you! I am so looking forward to sharing my heart and designs with you.
