Fun Holiday Weekend Plans?

I will be in and out (and so will QOTD) with Thanksgiving and Christmas prep/my Countdown to Christmas album starting this long weekend so I thought I would post the weekend thread early for those of you traveling, celebrating, etc.

Whatcha up to?

My mom & I are going to see Ellie in her Thanksgiving play this afternoon. Tomorrow, my sister is hosting Thanksgiving for the first time in her new house so I am making GF green bean casserole and GF brownies tonight to bring. I am not doing any Black Friday shopping but that afternoon we will be decorating my parents' house for Christmas. DH is traveling down to Indy Saturday & Sunday to see his son. We are probably going to see Santa at the mall Saturday (we've gotten lucky and not had to wait at all in line before!) & then we have church Sunday morning followed by an Advent fair that afternoon at my mom's church.

Since I start my Countdown to Christmas (Ali's December Daily) album the day after Thanksgiving, I will start doing that at night, too, before bed & filling our calendar up with as many activities as I (we) can handle.

We already had our Thanksgiving this past Sunday. I'm working from home the rest of the week, including tomorrow, so I'll be able to do things in between working like baking, sewing, watching movies, and basically just taking it easy. Cheyanne has basketball practices all week, except for Thanksgiving Day. We're going to the movies sometime to see Mocking Jay II with friends, probably late tomorrow afternoon.

Thanksgiving is the holiday that my whole family gets together for, so I'm in CT. We came up yesterday and will leave on Sunday. I may also get together with an old friend, and DH and I may try to have a date night while my parents watch the kids.

We don't celebrate thanksgiving here in the Netherlands, so I'll just have a normal weekend. With some black friday digiscrap shopping of course! Have a great weekend everyone!

I always forget that not all of us celebrate Thanksgiving, lol!

Today I am baking pies because dh will have his turkey in the oven tomorrow and I don't want to get up early. Tomorrow my SIL and her family come over and Friday I will lay around and recover. Probably do Christmas planning. Saturday dh and the boys have an all-day gaming event at church, so I might take Eden and her friend out Christmas shopping.

Also trying to decide if I'm going to do Lynette's Holiday Faves class again this year, so if I do I'll be setting that album up.

We are going to my parents tonight and will stay their until Saturday probably. For the last five or six years, I've hosted but I decided I didn't want to do it super pregnant early on... I'm not regretting that decision at all.

We've got some wacky weather coming through and actually getting a little prepared to be iced in... It should be interesting!

My brother and SIL are flying in. We are hosting dinner for them along with 2 sets of friends (17 of us total). The rest of the weekend will be spent outside...hiking, the driving range, more hiking. And we're going to an NHL game on Friday (the kid's first).

As much as I'd like time to lounge around, it isn't looking good for me...

we are hosting thanksgiving again... this will be our 12th year, I think... 11th with the full family (that first year we didn't invite hubby's grandparents). So, I need to start cooking for that... I make enough food to feed 40 people, haha - but only are to have 13 people this year... our numbers are getting smaller with deaths and family moving away... :( Then the weekend is ramping up for Christmas... got to plan all the elf and other activities and I have to make 25 angels ornaments for an Jesse Tree Ornament exchange on Sunday.

We were supposed to drive 2 hours away to my grandpa's home for Thanksgiving, what we do every year. I'm really sick though and it's slowly spreading through my husband and kids. Since my grandpa is 90 yrs old AND my pregnant SIL (who's due next week) will be there, I decided we wouldn't go. I'm honestly crushed but it's not worth the risk of getting them sick.

Instead we're going over to DH's parents home for dinner and then we usually go to a movie with his whole side. It should make tomorrow a little more relaxed and I'm hoping I can get out of the movie since I'll just cough through it. :/ Besides that, it's a pretty chill weekend!
