ok my SSD sisters........ I can't post on my personal page beacuse I don't want family to see..........but I always do a "theme" basket for my brother in law and his family (3 kids 9/7/5) and this year I was thinking of doing a family activity/game basket but I need some ideas to put in it.......I have a large box of crayola things, coloring books and some kids books, but other than that I got nothing, so looking for some cheap/easy ideas to add to their basket, so tell me your ideas!!!!

how about some classic card games like Crazy Eights, Old Maid, Go Fish, War [$2 a deck at Target] and a couple of fun jigsaw puzzles.

uno and skipbo! My kids loves those games. Also, what about a bag of popcorn kernels and instructions on how to pop your own on the stove? Maybe some special desert bowls. We like to eat while we play, that's why I say that.

Definitely UNO.
My kids like Don't Eat Pete too. Here's a vid of how it works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yccTSeL1x34

A list of easy games to play at home would be good too. Like these 4x6 cards I made up after collecting ideas from the internet. Right click and save if you want:

(All you'd need to add would be a cup, a few straws, a bag of popcorn, some glow sticks, etc, etc to complete the games). Slip the cards in a flip album or laminate them and hook them on a book ring.

Yatzy? We love yatzy and always play it when we go to the cabin. They usually run pretty cheap if you can find it, or you can make your own version and print it.
Also UNO is a very good suggestion.
